Hey. I was hoping someone who currently goes to KCOM or someone who is planning to go to KCOM could answer a couple of questions for me. I interviewed really late because my DO letter was sent really late, so I was accepted pending availability of a seat and also accepted early for the class of 2011. I really liked the school, but I really want to start this year. So in your opinion, what are the chances that someone will drop at this point? Do you know anyone who got in off the 'accepted pending availability' list without waiting a year? I've been accepted to another good school, so I don't know how I feel about turning that down to wait a year even though I am pretty sure I like KCOM better. What do you guys think?
Thanks.

I was accepted at KCOM but I am going to CCOM. I havent sent them notice yet, so Im sure there are others dropping as well. Good luck.

People certainly get in off of the waitlist. However, Kirksville gives you no indication of the order of the list. I am currently a MSIII at KCOM and love the school but I would never give up an acceptance to another school for a waitlist spot.

Well, technically, it wouldn't be giving up an acceptance for a waitlist. It would be giving up an an acceptance for an acceptance into next years class. And I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that accepted pending availability of a seat is different than a waitlist. The other school costs alot more too. And I could make some money in the year off I guess. I really hope I get in this year though. I also forgot to mention that I am only 22, so waiting a year would be ok I think.

Good to know. Thanks.

Yay. I got a call today. Someone dropped, so I am in the class of 2010. Only posting this in case someone else has the same questions I did.

Hey! I just got a call today offerring me a spot at KCOM. I already put down a deposit at KCUMB and really like KCUMB. I was also impressed with KCOM. Anybody want to share why they chose to attend/will attend KCOM? Thanks! :)

I interviewed at both schools and really liked both. I don't think you would go wrong at either school. I chose KCOM for family reasons I am married with children and I felt during my interview day that KCOM was a little more family oriented. My in-laws also live near Kirksville, so my wife will have more help from family here.

Already having put down a deposit would heavily sway my decision, but that is a choice you will have to make about which school you felt the most comfortable at. Good luck! Maybe we will be classmates in the fall!

I am graduating from KCOM this June. I have been happy with the school. I just wanted to let you know that I was on the waitlist and did not find out until May that I had gotten in. I know there where several people that found out after me too. So, there is definitely hope. A lot of people are still deciding where they are going to go. Good luck!

Just got the call today and i cant wait to start at KCOM.
