Questions that I should ask during the interview.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So I received my interview and am thinking of what questions I should ask when they ask me "do you have any questions?"

The best thing is to listen and pay attention to the orientation before the interview and take down notes. You will have questions for sure to ask that are specific to the program. For USN, I made a list and pulled it out when they asked me. My interviewer was like "uh-oh she has questions!"

Would you mind telling us what your questions were?

Ask your interviewers "what's your first reaction/response/thoughts when you hear people say saturation in regards to the pharmacy profession?"

Don't forget to ask if they're a diploma mill too.

Ask them what you're interested in knowing. Stuff like details about the curriculum, experiential education, where graduates usually go for jobs, what their opportunities are, and if the school is developing new programs, you could ask about where those programs are headed.

If you read some information from the website and then ask them questions about stuff that isn't listed, it'll be a good start. I think it will be good to show them that you're interested in what's going on at the school.

Would you mind telling us what your questions were?

1. Can students be involved in any research on campus and how?
2. Can you clarify on (this part) of your curriculum?
3. If it's a new school - How competitive are your graduates in applying for residency?
4. If I take classes with med students, is the focus taken away from pharmacy? How do you work around this?

Stuff like that.🙂

A trick that I played during my interviews is asking them questions about them... especially if its in a more informal setting. Two interviews I had turned out to be me interviewing them half the time! And we had a great vibe as well.
