After replication (S phase), and DNA polymerase leaves a mistake, the mismatch repair enzyme in G2 of the cell tries to fix this mistake.
Now my question is why does the mismatch repair enzyme need to find a palindromic sequence of bases GATC? How will a palindromic sequence help the enzyme repair the DNA??
