Can someone confirm this, or set me straight.

With the HINTS test, a positive Head Impulse and Nystagmus test indicate peripheral/vestibular issue while normal results in the setting of acute vertigo indicates a central issue (possible posterior CVA).

But the Test of Skew is opposite, with a positive test (skewed) indicating a central issue.

Right??

Yes you are correct. But the nystagmus is not just about yes nystagmus or no nystagmus. Multidirectional nystagmus is a sign of badness whereas unidirectional can be peripheral and therefore less worrisome
