Quick question regarding application for admissions 2010

hey guys,

I just had a quick question in applying to DO schools.
I am planning to apply 2009 for admissions 2010.

So, when is the last month/time i can take the MCATs. is it Jan 2010?
and also, when do applications start coming out ? i want to apply early as possible

I believe the AACOMAS application would be available to you sometime in May, 2009. Definitely start working on that as soon as you can because it becomes pretty time consuming to explain all of your extracurricular/work/volunteer experiences. You'll also have to have your official transcripts sent directly from your college(s) to AACOMAS. To my knowledge most schools will not accept a January MCAT in an application for that same year. So I would not take the MCAT any later then September 2009. As always, the earlier the schools have everything (mcat scores, aacomas application, secondary application and letters of recommendation) the better. Hope this helps a little bit. Peace.

Where did you get this information? I am under the impression that you can take your MCAT in April or May if you really wanted to. I think most schools would like to know the tentative date you plan on taking your MCAT. Also careful in how late you schedule April and May are busy months for MCAT, so it seems. The unfourtunate truth is that until your scores are in and verified by the respective application service most schools will not consider you.

What I'm saying is that in applying for 2010 admissions, most schools would not accept a January 2010 mcat score and would definitely not even consider a April or May 2010 mcat score...That's only 3-4 months before the semester would start. By that time the class is pretty much full, if not completely full.

The latest you can take it for most schools would be Sept '09, very few would accept Jan '10. And even if they did you'd have to have stellar stats getting it out that late.

Do yourself a favor and take it NLT Sept '09
