Hi, i have access to both set of materials, im wondering if there are any passages/questions overlapped between these 2 resources? i would like to try a few R versions just to see the type of questions and eventually focus on the AAMC3-11. Thank you!🙂

I believe the CBT version (52Q) is the sub-set of the 70Q R version. I have not gone through question by question to confirm that as I think it is just wasting of time. My strategy is take the CBT version first and then use the R version for question practice. Well, there are 18 more Q in PS & BS for each test. I can't recall how many in verbal as i type this. I would squeeze in each R version between each CBT test. That can only apply for 3,4, 5 & 7.

(6) is in Assessment package I believe. I am not sure "all" in assessement. So, you can play the same game by using the R6 as "more" practice once you went through the assessments. Well, this is not a perfect option and it tie the timing and process behind each CBT and assessment. It may not work well for some of the folks. But that is the best option I can think of taking advantage of the R versioin test without messing up the CBT 3,4,5, 6,7 ones.

I can be wrong but I believe the R version only went up to 7 and the 8 onward only has CBT. Other SDNers can confirm if I am not correct.

im also debating whether or not to buy the Self-Assessment Package, since like you said, its from the 6R version of the test. Should i purchase it?

R is just revised version.

although the older/longer full lengths are good in that they have extra questions, those questions are are not as good as the questions that are in the new 52 question tests. basically they didn't make the "cut" so to say.

i don't think there is such thing a 6R or 6 test, what aamc sells as practice set are the extra questions they cut out when they switched to a shorter test. if you need extra practice than it's good. but i'd probably recommend practice from other sources than these extra questions. a lot of those questions/passages are "out there" and odd/werid to say the least, and doesn't really represent the test.

Yes, yes, yes!

It is money worth spent. They are actually from FL1, 2 and 6. Very good stuff.

Besides the AAMC FLs, the assessment package is a MUST.

It is not just the content. AAMC set the package such that it gives the big picture about where you are at. That you can't find it else where.

What you said is absolutely correct. The assessment only serves for the purpose as practice and/or diagnostic on the status; but it is not intent to adding or supplementing any FLs.
