Honestly the fact that this is so relatable for some colleagues is just sad 🙁
One of the first things I did in both residency and job interviews was to find a way to quickly, but organically, say that my spouse was not locked into a rigid professional career and would be moving with me.

I highly recommend this tactic to anyone who can use it.

Don't be silly! We will of course let FMGs train in the US for the cheap labor but then we deport 'em afterwards. Or, they self-deport in case they don't to work in Meth-Town USA.

We can take 34% of their salary as well. They'll love us for it. I'm wishing I had bought that taycan I had my eyes on back in December.
