Dippin' Dots is the BEST!

And it was invented by an SIU grad! :meanie: 👍

My husband is cooking bacon this morning.... mmmmm

Alas, I'm grilling vegetables for myself since there's only enough bacon for one (and I'm nice enough to let my husband have it).

Awww, well we're far enough away that we can see them but not really hear them.

My daughter is kinda odd with certain things - wind freaks her out and only in the past few weeks will she actually go down a slide at the park. 😉

Funny how kids are like that. (I guess adults are like that too).

My niece LOVES going down slides - her aunt wishes she would stick to smaller ones. 😀

When we were at King's Island in Ohio she refused to go on the train, and we couldn't figure out why, and then finally realized it was because of the train whistle and bell.

i bought a crapload of food to grill up

seafood, burgers, hot dogs, veggies, and i'm making a fresh fruit tart!

the weather looks crappy, so i scrapped the shore plans 🙁

woohoo! i'm going to the pool cause it's finally open! 🙂 yay for pool!!! (almost wrote yay for poop...what is WRONG with me this morning?!?)

oh and i have a little bit of a silly t-shirt tan from my canoeing this weekend...but hopefully a few hours out in the ol' bikini will help fix that.

I need to get off my butt and clean the house but I don't want to. 😉

This is the first morning in forever where I actually feel half-way normal and yet I still can't motivate myself to do anything.

My niece is so afraid of loud noises. 🙁

So is my 115 pound dog. Last night, the city did a "test round" and Callie was in our bed freaking out. Happens every year...the 4th is not her favorite.

Oxeye, I am so sorry to hear about your dog. It is heartbreaking. I could never be a vet. NEVER. Yesterday, I had found a dying baby bird. Heartbreaking. I need to check on him/her, but I dodn't expect to find anything positive. I did move it so that the chow would not use it as a play toy. The trees around the area where I found it are all over 100 feet tall...probably closer to 200. I had no idea what to do.

How do animals get ahold of our heart so strongly?

I am so sorry. Please let us know when you find something out about your pup.

Sounds like we're having motivational issues. 😳

I read that as "I need to clean my but and get off the house." Then i realized that made no sense.

Where's our drill sergeant Nikki?
I'm in jammies too. But it's earlier here. I'm thinking about reading in the tub. All I have to do today is a little laundry and dinner. I might make an apple pie too. Oh yes, and I need to watch lots of TV. 😀

I'd like one of those too. Unfortunately, that would require getting a job. :scared:

Yeah I need one of those too. I technically have a baby sitting job but the lady is constantly out of town so i haven't worked much lately. Hopefully she gets back soon so I can get me some moola aka $$$$$$$. 😛

But then again I do talk about breaststicks on this board so you never know with me ....

I'm still in my jammies also. It's a SDN pajama party! Woo!

I'm about to get in the shower so I can go with my husband to Home Depot (aka Home Debit). We have some projects around the house to do today.

I have a long list of things I wanted to do today, but they're not getting done in lieu of lounging.

I'm going to study this afternoon, but that's about it.

it's not fair to gloat, Megboo.

I've been at the hospital since 7am, up since 5:30.

of course, now that I'm here I'm sitting on my butt doing nothing........ but I'm definitely NOT in my jammies!

yeah. BTW, I think I mentioned this but when I was in St. Charles the family friends we were visiting now has a 2 year old.

That 2 year old has gotta be the smartest 2 year old I've ever met. I kid you not. This girl was talking in full proper sentences. She even pays attention to her dad's driving skill by telling him to keep both eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel. She's that smart.

She was dancing really nicely too at the wedding party we went to. I just wanted to hug and squeeze her, she was soooooooo cute.

My butt is all clean now. 😀

My folks have two tubs in their house and my niece wanted to clean her butt in one tub and all the rest of her in the other tub.

That sucks you had to work. Holiday pay?????

I'm going to eat my veggies I cooked and then I guess study a little bit.

I'm starting to feel the lazy guilt coming on, especially since I have a pile of clothes I need to sort so I can stow some away.

Speaking of birds, I went to open our front door yesterday and a bird was apparently right next to it (my hands were full an ddidn't see it), it got its wing caught and sqauked and hopped off. My hubby thought it was a baby or something. It wasn't flying so I went back to check on it a few minutes later and it wasn't where it had been before but there were 2 birds in the tree right about where I saw it last. One sounded like it.

Animals do get your heart.

Oxeye, I feel for you. Our dog was 15 when she finally left us. It was a struggle for the last couple of months.
