I have been feeling sort of violent today, between the insurance thing and the cable guys. 🙄

The guys who came out to fix my internet knew about 1/50 as much as I did about internet stuff. It was really funny - they basically clicked on internet explorer, nothing came up, and they were like, "yeah, it doesn't work." :laugh: They they restarted my computer. Jiggled the cables. Checked under "network properties." Reset the modem. Checked to see if it had an IP address. I was like, um, I already tried all that stuff before I called you people. But finally it is fixed! :clap: When that guy had to come back again, I basically made him call somebody who was able to help.

You mean the people that ask the same question without looking at anything else? I'm so sick of seeing all the threads about people wanting other people to read their personal statements. It's not that hard to look in the pre-med goodies link to be able to find the PS help thread.

She said that in order for a person to get cavities, they have to have a specific bacteria in their mouth. We acquire the bacteria usually from our parents when we are babies, but she said some people don't.

I wonder if maybe you didn't have that bacteria until recently? Probably an our there idea, but it's the first thing that popped into my head. 😉

I have always had tons and tons of cavities - all my baby molars were filled (got my first cavity around 6 or 7 years old), and all of my permanent molars are filled. I haven't gotten any new cavities since I was 18, fortunately. I also haven't changed my teeth hygienne habits, so go figure. 😕 I asked my dentist if maybe there just weren't any spots left to decay since I have so many fillings, but he says I could definitely still get them other places in my molars. 😉

I have never had a cavity. Is the guy saying that essentially it is genetic or what? My whole family has cavities. But, not me...although, I am a bit (ok, a lot) obsessive about oral hygene.

You'd get along great with m y mom. I would love to buy some land but we're broke grad students. BUT we are thinking of buying a folding camper. I think we might do that instead of a honeymoon. It would be a great investment and then we might just go camping in the US somewhere for our honeymoon. Whoopie! Except he wants the basic one and I want the one with a little more bells and whistles. For good reasons though. My family owned an RV before for a couple of years and we learned the hard way about storage space and such. 😀

:laugh: 👍 I hate when that happens. Glad to see that its back up and running. Now, did you already start your WoW addiction already though 😉

And as for your comment on my blog, yeah I think I'd like the critical care setting. If I can find the right peds residency that isn't geared towards family practice then I think i'll be ok. Otherwise I'd go insane. :scared:

I don't want to let the journal club die after just one week. 🙁 beary, it's pretty fun actually; the docs I'm working with all know my dad, so they are nicer than they would be to a typical pre-med. One guy is an MD/PhD even, and he did separate degrees like I did. 😎 Ok, girls, I've got to run. No fights today, so put away the Amish brass knuckles!!!

Edit: I've all but stopped reading pre-allo. Thank the deity of your choice that MM is modding that forum and not me. :meanie: Nowadays I just read this forum, the non-trad forum, the allo forum, and the physician scientist forum. And I stop in the re-app forum every now and then.

No, not genetic. When I said we usually get it from our parents as babies, I meant through saliva transfer - like sharing a spoon or something. 😉
