I know it is so hard to wait. I actually wondered the other night if MCAT scores had come out and you folks crashed SDN with all the posting. 😉

We crashed SDN the night ROLs were due. They are all due at 9 pm eastern on the same day, and I knew it had crashed last year, so I posted mine at 8:57 to be sure it got out there. :laugh:

Ugh, no kidding!!! I need that score!!!

I just don't understand why the AAMC can't just give us a date for the score release already. I'm sure they know it - why are they being so *@&#^@^!@ vague!!

That sounds so fun! I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.

I'm going to visit my family (parents and sisters and BIL) in a couple weeks. I can't wait! I haven't driven down there since Thanksgiving. I've seen my mom and sisters once since then, but I haven't seen my dad at all and I miss him! I'm only four hours away from all of them, but it's hard to travel with the kiddos. 😉

Rank Order Lists - it's what you submit to the Match people (your preference list for residency programs). The programs' are due at the same time, so nobody wants to post it too early to tip your hand. I figured 8:57 was pretty safe. :laugh:

I bet! That's how far away I am from my folks now. I have a hard time traveling with just myself!

My niece and SIL are flying in to Cincinnati as well. I really wish my bro could come, but he couldn't get off work. 🙁

I 😍 Amish cheese. I used to go down to Kalona (15 miles S of IC, where all the Amish people are) and get cheese all the time. And bread and cookies.

I just saw this thing on TV about Detroit and it looked fabulous. 😕 I will have to go check it out some time.

That's what I've always heard! *straps on Kevlar*

But it did. You should have seen this show. Beaches, lakes, casinos, beautiful river walk, Greek town, etc. Looked like a resort.

So the husband, kids, and I went out to dinner at Red Robin tonight - as I was leaving we passed a couple in a booth and I saw that the girl had a USLME Step 1 review book next to her.

It made me think of Arsenic!! And I had to resist the urge to stop and strike up a conversation with her about how she likes the med school. There's only one in town so I know she has to go to the one I'm hoping to get into! 🙂

I was telling my husband that it must suck to go out to dinner and be planning to study while you are there. I never lugged my Kaplan books along with me random places. Actually, I don't think I even did that with the flashcards.

Oh and here is another reason I'm *so* glad to have all of you on this thread. I told my husband that the girl is a med student. And he said "How do you know?" I said said "because she has a USMLE Step 1 book."

His response "A what book??" He doesn't follow all of my obsessive ramblings. 😉

I couldn't see myself eating with another person yet reading. I mean how long is dinner? an hour max.? If anything use some covert high yield note cards :meanie:

I just never studied when I ate period. Even during finals, boards, etc. I live alone so I wasn't even usually eating with somebody else, but that was just time I took to relax and either read the paper or watch TV or something.

There were people in my class who had note cards that they wrapped in plastic bags so they could study in the shower. I'm serious. 😱

those are the times when you should have it on tape to just listen to. plastic baggies are just plain wrong.

Wow - studying in the shower??? That's insane.

Besides, I'm usually busy in the shower - washing hair, shaving, etc. I don't know how I could fit flashcards in without just making the shower last longer. 😉

beary--i don't even know what to say. that's just a *little* psycho. what do you hold the notecards with one hand and shave your legs with the other? sounds dangerous.
