Nope... 🙁
They won't put the video there so easily... There is this whole issue of broadcasting rights, etc...

Welcome. I see you're a Rand fan. My favorite book of hers is Anthem. We try to avoid discussing the MCAT here as much as possible. 😛

VD, I forgot to tell you that the Dark Matter books arrived. (It *was* VD who recommended them to me, right???) I haven't read them yet, but I'll let you know what I think. Thanks again for the suggestion. 🙂
yes, I am a Rand fan, and attempting objectivism. Anthem is terrific. Atlas Shrugged is my favorite, its amazing, and the storyline itself is pretty neat.

i am now reading the da vinci code. i had it for a while but i just never really got a chance to read it. it's great so far 🙂
Thats a great book...been meaning to read Angels and Demons too...though i heard its supposed to come before Da Vinci Code.
Anyone seen the movie? how was it?

 You can find our comments on the movie about 10-20 pages back.

If you're ever bored, there's plenty of mindless drivel on this thread.

hehe 😀 i will have to check that out....im deciding if i should spend my time on da vinci or over the hedge or cars...or none 😉

I want someone to see that new Adam Sandler movie (I think it's called Click?) where he has a remote and can fast forward or rewind his life, pause, etc. Someone tell me if it's even remotely good or if it's just 100% ridiculous.

justmoi, I liked Atlas too. The only thing about it that I *don't* like is John Galt being held up as some kind of exemplary person. I think he's an inhuman monster, which makes him perfect for Rand, naturally. On the other hand, I have a major thing for Hank Reardon. 😍 Do any of the rest of you have crushes on literature or TV or movie characters? (Not the actors/actresses themselves, but the characters they play.) From TV, I love Captain Picard from TNG. He's played by Patrick Stewart, who is also Dr. Xavier in the X-men movies....is it a coincidence that Dr. Xavier is my favorite mutant too???

Speaking of Patrick Stewart, my older sister and I went to a classical music concert in SF where the music is narrated. Patrick Stewart was the narrator.

My sister and I wated to shout out "We love you Jean Luke!!!!" at the end but figured that wouldbe inappropriate.

My dad is a total TNG fan so my sister and I grew up with that show practically.

And there's a nerd test out there where you get extra points of you have ever referred to the Star Trek series as TNG or DS9, etc.

Girl, I have a PhD in chemistry. I don't think there's anything I could possibly do or say to convince anyone that I WASN'T a nerd. 😉 But besides that, TNG is a lot shorter to write out. I never got into DS9. I used to watch the original Star Trek episodes in HS; they had re-runs on the local TV station on weekends. They would also show Dr. Who and The Twilight Zone. All classics. 👍

 I was complementing you when I mentioned the nerd test points! Nerds kick butt.

I loved The Twilight Zone too! That's another one that I watched with my dad. We also used to watch Quantum Leap together - that was a pretty darn good show too. 👍

I have a huge crush on Colin Firth as Jack/Earnest Worthing (sp?) in The Importance of Being Earnest

I could have gone to see it this morning if I had someone to watch the baby (whick I didn't). My pastor at the church where my husband is the pianist was treating all the staff and their families to the movie this morning and lunch afterwards. We went to lunch but I knew the baby would just be too noisy at the movie. I think my older daughter would have loved seeing it in the big theater, though. 🙂

Looks like everyone has a full weekend! I'm off to Alpine Valley in So. Wisconsin to see Jimmy Buffett. Tonight is a big party then tomorrow is an all-day party + concert. Sunday is *ouch* day.

I'm in the hometown an hour south of Tampa for someone's wedding prayer ceremony. I don't know exactly what its called, but it is a ceremony in hindu weddings where the groom comes to his parents house and the family and friends give him blessings before the actual ceremony.

No cars are cool. I want to see the second Pirates of the Caribb movie. I heart Johnny Depp.

I also want to see the Da Vinci code since I read the book ages ago.

On a totally random note, Oxeye......

I keep thinking of your profile signature every time I go to the pediatric clinic where I volunteer and read Dr. Suess's One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish

Angels and Demons is a very enjoyable read. It does come before Da Vinci Code but it doesn't really matter so don't worry about reading it later.

Clark Davis from the "Love Comes Softly" series by Jeannette Oke. These are pioneer women books. That is the man I want to marry. 😍 Too bad he's fictional. 🙁

I want to see that movie too - I really liked the first movie. But am totally not into the eye makeup on Johnny Depp.

I had a busy day today - went to a butterfly exhibit at the conservatory this morning. It was not nearly as cool as advertised, but my niece seemed to like it. Later in the day we went to Kings Island. I think she had a blast. I did too. Though you know how they have those minimum height requirements on rides? They need to have a maximum height as well. I rode a roller coaster, which normally I wouldn't do, but there was one right there and there is only so much Thomas the Train rides I could take. I'm 5'11" which isn't even that tall and my femurs were too long so my knees kept slamming into the front of the car ahead of me.

I had my first Graeter's ice cream - yum! Haven't had Skyline Chili yet but will.

Too funny!!!

I took my mdapps link down a little while ago. I got a little nervous about it being too identifying. It's one thing to have pics of my baby up, but it's really obvious where I live and go to school from my mdapps and I didn't want all the information connected to my kids. I'm so paranoid. 🙁

i went to the butterfly exhibit at the cleveland zoo and they have these little lizards running around--it's so cute. but it's so humid in there--like a rainforest. sorry about the rollercoaster--you all need to come up to cedar point in sandusky sometime. glad you had fun🙂

Nah a lot of posters do that. But yeah its funny because this was the second time I've thought of an SDN poster when reading to the kids at the clinic. The other time, I was reading that Clifford board book about animal sounds, and it reminded me of another poster who had used one of the lines from that book to describe something in their PS.

P.S. Dr. Seuss rocks the world. I'm going to buy the kids at the clinic more Dr. Seuss books because he's just one of the bestest authors even after all these years and postdeath. His books go back to the 60's and still are some of the all time best books for kids.

I agree, it's not paranoid. I don't have a profile either b/c there's no way it would be anonymous. And that's why I don't post a pic of myself, either. No point in making it even easier for the wackos to find me; they haven't ever had trouble in the past. 😛 😱
