Oh, and my husband is the first guy my parents actually thought would make a good husband and approved of.

My other serious beaux they may have liked as people, but not as potential family.

Every guy that I dated seemed to pass the parental test, but I dumped them shortly thereafter. I don't know why..it just always happened. Knowing this, I didn't let them meet my husband until the day we announced we were engaged. I knew he was the one and I didn't want a repeat performance of past relationships.

You haven't been listening to them on the computer all along? How do you follow along with the handouts?

sometimes but not always. i just got this stuff a few weeks ago after i had started in on brs path and so i after i went through that 400+ page book i wasnt gonna read goljans handouts. i just listen to him straight up and pause and look something up in brs or first aid if i need to.

Also Grey's anatomy is moving to Thursdays next Fall.

CRAP. Now I won't get to watch my vet 🙁

Numbers is on CBS, and did it get cancelled? It was dorky but alright I suppose. This move to thursdays will ruin my thursday plans... CSI and Without a Trace... they take priority over any other show

man i'm pissed, my ipod battery is dead. as in, the stupid ipod wont work unless plugged into the wall. the battery is totally shot and wont recharge. its only 2 years old! i doubt its still under warranty, does anyone know how much it costs to have the battery replaced by apple? i remember reading somewhere once that one of the ipods weaknesses is that when the battery fails only apple technicians can replace it. with 4 weeks left to step 1 now if i want to listen to music or goljan i have to use my computer. ahhhhhhhhhhh 😡

its like a hundred bucks aint it?

MWAHAHAHHAHA.... i've had my dell mp3 player for like 4 years and use it almost every day and it's still churning for ~20 hours :meanie:

Check out this website. I was at an Apple Store last month and while I was waiting at the Genius Bar I saw them exchanging out a lot of iPods. They just opened up a brand new box and gave it to the person. I don't know how long your warranty was for but you might want to check it out because if it's still under warranty they might just replace it no questions asked.

My brother has an iPod thing that you put double A batteries in and you can attach it to your iPod when the battery gets low. That could get expensive, though. It's called the Belkin Backup Battery Pack.

And Numbers was on on Friday at 10 pm. I'm thinking CBS? I've only seen it once or twice but it's an interesting show.

I am considering spending the night at the hotel during my move since I won't have TV or my computer.

You would not believe the interest I get on World of Warcraft.

And I watch college football. And NASCAR. Darn, I'll be a perfect wife someday. 😀

Totally serious. No, you wouldn't die. You would find other things to do, like hang out on line. 😛

Can you guys log in now? I was just on, and it seemed to be working fine. Also, did you all add A-man? beary, if you need his URL, let me know.

 I think that I have been and would be a highly imperfect wife. But I can be a fun girlfriend. 🙂

Are you serious? Every weekend since The beginning of Feb we have been staying on an inflatable bed at the new house...no TV, no 'puter. Read, pray...for goodness sake sleep!

I am a completely imperfect wife. Anyone who claims that they are perfect or are married to the perfect one is
1. Delusional
OR
2. Lying

For some reason I think I will be a better wife than girlfriend. Not sure why I think this as I have never been a wife. Wishful thinking I guess.

I don't think she meant it that literally. But I actually did. Even when your partner has some major issues, nothing is ever totally one person's fault. You did pick that person, so you at least have that much responsibility. I think it's some kind of epiphany when you come to the realization that yeah, YOU didn't always handle things well too. 😳 😛 One of my faults, if you will, is that in the past I have cared too much about a guy's brains, and not enough about his heart. I'd have looked down on someone who was superficial about a partner's looks, or his bank account, but I didn't recognize that I was doing the exact same thing. 🙂

Being a wife is much easier than being a girlfriend. Not because the expectations are lower or anything, but somehow you just "know" things. You are now a team of sorts and that translates in really cool ways. I find myself being surprised by things I think...more like ways I think. I've been married for almost 5 years.

Wow, I am exactly the same. I truly don't care about looks since looks fade (and I'm not a looker myself. ) But I am totally snotty about brains/education. My family will practically not late me date someone unless they have at least a master's. 🙄

What I think is so cool about marriage is the commitment. It seems like in dating, you're always analyzing each other, thinking "Is this the one?" Once you get married, it's like, "This IS the one for me!" and then you're focused on making it work and being a team like you put it.

And that is why I generally stay out of pre-allo. People there take themselves wayyyy too seriously (the Aunt Flo thread is a perfect example 🙄 ). Of course, I'm a typical Type B, so I just don't understand. The chill pill was greatly needed 😀

That is the first time I have heard it form that POV. I always cared more about the heart. That can burn you too...in other ways. I was taken by my hubby when he was more than just the heart..he was the spiritual and the intellectual...and the physical (to me). It's great when that happens.

But, ya know Q, we have a friend who is 45 or so, a PhD...incredibly intelligent, attractive and a wonderful person...but can't get a date to save her life. I think a lot of guys are intimidated by brains. Which leads me to my hypothesis re: ditzy girls.

But, a man is not worth feigning minimal intelligence. It will make you miserable later on. Not saying you would do this...I just got off onto a tangent. 🙂

Not all guys are like that. I think it's true that many guys are intimidated by brains. But I also think that many people use that "no one appreciates how wonderful I am" excuse as a cop-out to avoid the work and responsibility that comes with being in a relationship. (Not saying that your friend is necessarily doing this, but in general.) This gets back to what I was saying: if I'm this hypothetical intelligent, attractive, and wonderful woman, and I "can't get a date to save my life," should I conclude that 6 billion other human beings on this planet have issues because of how great I am? Maybe it means that I need to do some introspection to figure out why people are running away from my beautiful, brilliant butt. 😉

Yeah he did. Though I have a similar deal (susceptible to clots because of a bad heart) and am not on blood thinners right now. I used to be and just bled all over the place all the time (nosebleeds, etc. - it practically ruined my life).

*hyperventilates with fear of stroke*

pffft... you're fine. but wouldn't they have him on those... especially after a transplant? eh... tv is tv

Yikes. What a catch-22. 🙁

I was reading about this bizarre disease polycythemia where the person's blood keeps getting thicker and thicker due to overproduction of erythrocytes, and they have to have blood removed. Luckily it's pretty rare.

Hahahaha. Good thing my mom doesn't read this. 🙄 (She seriously wakes up in the middle of the night and calls me to make sure I'm ok 😡 )

Yeah, TV is TV. Though sometimes after surgery you don't put people on blood thinners because they have lines, etc., that could bleed. It's tricky. On some services you have these gigantic long talks about "Heparin? When? How much? How long?" Definitely not an exact science.

*future pathologist zones out*
