ok i will stay poisoned........just keep talking nerdy to me :meanie:

how are you doing?? you know you have a strong future in writing medical dramas/soap operas.

ha! watch, you're talking to the next Michael Crichton. bastard went to med school, became a doctor and pitched ER to NBC. 👍

tomorrow makes 1 month to the day until my exam. studying is fine, i just wish i had more time. reviewing 2 years of med school in a little over a month is not compatible with my brain.

i just wish i could look at and study everything and thats just impossible. *damn*

two words......... "Amish ER". i will leave it at that my friend. thats the next highly rated medical drama.

would you find it funny if someone was walking around with the imprint of a penis on their face?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

I FELL ASLEEP WITH 45 MINS OF GA LEFT! Damn you stupid 4 hour drive! Damn you new house. Damn you too much stuff to do.

Just kidding. It started lagging at about 10:15 and I guess I zoned out. Thankfully, hubby was awake and caught the rest of it.
😴

Beary, I am trying to leave you comments on MySpace...but the stupid thing keeps giving me a technical error. Damn you technical error. 🙂

beary, i want to add you to myspace too!

er, um, add you to my myspace...that seems a little redundant though. you get the idea. 😀

Me too. I also started college at 17.
yup, as did i! i didn't consider it too young, although it was annoying that any time i had to get something official signed, i had to send it home to my parents for that parent/guardian signature (or i just forged it...:meanie: )

So I'm a dork with too much time on my hands and 20 minutes to kill before GA starts ...

We have helium balloons in our house left over from the baby shower that I hosted last weekend. Naturally I start thinking about how funny it is to inhale helium. Then I started wondering why it changes your voice.

Apparently, it has to do with the density of helium vs. the density of air and the speed of helium vs. the speed of air and how that changes the resonant frequencies of the sound of your voice.

Is it just me or does that seem like it could be something that would show up on the MCAT?

Yes. Helium is a lighter gas and thus the vocal mechanism is less resistant to vibration. The vocal folds vibrate faster (they don't have to work as hard as they would with the heavier air gas mixture), and the resonant qualities of the shape of the pharyngeal/oral/nasal cavities propagate the higher frequency so you can hear it better.

Then, voila! You have a Mickey-Mouse voice!

And theoretically, if you inhaled a gas heavier than the air mixture we breathe, your voice would be perceived as a lower pitch (it would be lower in frequency).

I didn't. I started 1st grade just before the school systems moved the age cut-off up. My halloween birthday was just before the Nov. 1 cut-off.

It kinda sucked in college because you had to be 18 to get into the bars and I was 17 for the first 3 months.

Mine too! I think that Meredith is the medical version of Ally McBeal. 😉

I'm sorry, and I know some of you are going to jump on me, but Meredith's character really is starting to annoy me.

She always seems like she's squinting, and I wish she would either take some antidepressants or grow a set and make some decisions in her life.

/rant.

Otherwise I love GA.

I hope Izzie doesn't really leave the show. She needs some time away (between seasons) so she can start fresh next season *crossing fingers*

I'm happy Alex and Christina grew a heart at the end, and George took a stand with psycho ortho.

I agree. But, she has annoyed me since day one. Has she looks dirty in recent episodes? I hope Izzy doesn' go anywhere...she makes up for Meredith. But, her psycho issue was a bit over the top.

I am hoarse from talking to the utilities people all morning.

At least you're not bitching about your period a la pre-allo.

I had a dream last night that I was taking the MCAT. It was probably the verbal section, but there were discrete questions that stated a quote from someone, and you had to choose who said it. I ended up voiding my test. As I was walking through the university campus where the test was located, I happened upon a couple guys playing catch with a ball the size of a tennis ball, and I could jump really high (like hundreds of feet) and land ok. I started playing catch with them for a while.

The campus was supposed to be SIU-C but it was some other place.

Weird.

yea, that aunt flo thread is getting a bit ridiculous.

i had a funny MCAT dream during the week before the test...the first section of the MCAT was project runway MCAT, where i had to design a dress and have my model show it to the judges. the second one was a little more like a pencil and paper test...only when i opened the test, it was a HUGE sudoku puzzle! 😀
(yep, i'm a nerd...i do sudoku puzzles whenever i have a free minute or two)

No more ghost-hunting to update, though. I've been e-mailing the group and either they're really busy or they don't like me any more because I haven't heard from them.

I want to write more about it and it's a bummer!

I tried to get the OP to have MM move it here and come hang out with us, but she (the OP) doesn't seem to like the idea. 🙁

Flex your mod muscles and move it. It's deteriorating anyway. No pun intended.
I can't; I can only move threads from the MCAT forum and the Physician Scientist forum b/c those are the ones where I'm a mod. In pre-allo I'm a regular user just like you. So MM would have to do it. Personally, I think it's gotten mean enough that she'd be warranted to close it altogether at this point. 👎
