I think my reaction may have worked. Un-freaking-believable. I couldn't get it done to save my life before my thesis was due, but now I try it once as a post doc and I get a product? I think I will go take the MS of it crude and see if it's the right stuff. The suspense is killing me. 😛

Girl, MM moved it to the lounge hours ago. Stop stalling. Go make your profile so we can all connect up. You are the last holdout. 😛

I don't have a myspace account either, and probably not going to get one.

Too much to have to keep track of.

I don't even use my facebook account.

I am trying to update the music on my MP3 player (still has Christmas music on it 😱 ) and I can't find the right USB cord. I have about 50 USB cords here but none of them have the right connector. 😡

Also, I found an MC Hammer CD. I didn't even know they made CDs back then.

Edit: I am going through old music and just found what I was listening to when I woke up and turned on the TV on September 11. Immediate link in my head. Amazing how music can do that.

Edit #2: R.E.M.! The soundtrack for my teen angst.

i was in french class in high school when we found out about sept. 11th......scary

That makes me feel old. I was in second year university when that happened. It was a doubly bad day because my brother was in a motorcycle accident that day. He was pretty banged up, but he pulled through.

It's amazing how certain songs remind us of key events in our lives. It happens to me all the time, especially songe from the mid to late 90s...my high school years. Almost 10 years ago...scary stuff :scared:

I was on my honeymoon. My mother-in-law lived 2 miles from the Pentagon. When we moved up here (and into her house to take care of her) I was totally freaked out. I asked why ANYONE would want to live there. She looked at me and said "Well, somebody has to!" It was so funny. I mean, obviously it loses something when typed, but it was one of those things that I will never forget.

I had just finished defending my masters the Friday before (Sept. 7), and I was getting ready to move back to FL. That was a Tuesday. At first we thought that someone had lost control of a plane and hit the first tower. After the second one hit, we knew it wasn't an accident....

I had already done half of med school and was in grad school.

ooooh... i was outside of DC for work. They actually stopped our work shop and asked all the new york people to call home. i honestly thought it was nothing, just a plane that nicked the towers. when i walked out of the room did i realize just how serious it was. there were lots of gov/military people there andthey were running. we were on lock down for the rest of the day. luckily the fam was okay, but going home was surreal.

and now that i remember, as much as i felt sorry for those who lost loved ones, i was really feeling bad for one of my co-workers. he's muslim and went home to make sure nobody tried to attack his family.

Don't feel bad. I was in college already during the mid 90s. 😛

its weird when you hear songs and it brings up memories. i get that from watching movies too. like vanilla sky... well, i think it was more of my ex that saw the correlation than i did. but he was a pansy.

I was about to do my nursing home rounds and was watching the news while having a morning coffee at home.

My dad's cousin's office was where the plane landed. Good thing that section of the Pentagon was undergoing remodeling at the time.

Scary - I remember being in my dorm room when the Oklahoma City bombing went on the news in April 1995.

Me too! That was when I lived in Canada and was at school at McGill. Everybody was asking me about the US for like a month afterward.

You went to McGill? I sooo wanna go there for my PhD. I've heard that it's a really cool place to live. Did you go there for undergrad?

Living in the UK during the last election blew. It was the first thing anyone asked me abuot once they heard my accent. I got SO tired of talking about politics.

In an unrelated note, I'm heading off for 2 weeks to go camping w/ my mom and spend some time with my grandma. I'll see all you random peeps when I get back!

I was a senior in college on 9/11 - hearing that some of you were in high school really reminded me that I'm a non-trad! 😉

I was in HS during the FIRST Iraq war. 🙄 I used to come home from school and watch it on CNN. That was the first time they had televised a war as it happened. I remember everyone being all excited about the Patriot missles and freaking about the Scud missles.

I didn't like that war at all. but what war is good? i remember peter jennings doing the talk about iraq with all those little kids and the big floor map

i was in hs for the oj trial too... and it was nuts... the pa system was hooked in when the verdict was being read. and all the security was out in full force... i think they were worried people were gonna bust out and flood the halls
