what is your age cut off when it comes to people you date?

i've dated someone 6 years younger and someone 15 years older.

 6 years younger and I wold be dating a 16 year old.......but it probably wouldn't be as big of a deal later on

15 years older would be a little too much for me, knowing that technically should could be my mom....i would say my cut is maybe 10 max

i think its a lost cause to try and catch up with amish over there. i think on the next installment of this thread it will be possible

i figure its best to date an older guy cause guys in general are just childish. the older they are compared to you... the closer in maturity they will be

Are you still in the ER, or doing inpt or outpt?

We only had call in the ER. Otherwise we had 3 weeks of clinics and 3 weeks of inpt.
we have 3 weeks of inpt, 1 week of ER, 1 week of clinic, and 1 week of specialty clinics like pediatric cardiology. right now i'm on the ER week, i have the clinic and then specialty clinics after. i finish the rotation with the wards.

From what you guys are saying I think I will add Vandy and UVA. The lack of diversity at Vandy might bug me but I am from TX 🙂p) I can tough it out. Does Vandy give scholarships?

Dude, UVA is my dream. Have you SEEN their hospital? Whoa baby! VD, if you visit UVA, call me up...I am an hour from there!

Is the GMAT tough? I'll be studying for that hopefully next semester...
It was better than the MCAT I'm sure. I've heard the quantative is harder for the MCAT than the GRE and vice versa for the verbal. GRE is alot of vocab, GMAT isn't so much. If you are doing MD/MBA, why bother with the GMAT? The GMAT usually is waived ... 😕

Well funny part I ALWAYS do better in quant than verbal. On the exam I got 20 percentage points higher on Verbal than quant 😕 I ended up with a 580 (which was way below my practice test scores of 630ish 🙁 ) but I only needed a 500 on my exam to get in the school my company was associated with. I should have studied more but I didn't have much time as I was working alot of OT at the time. I do remember going WTF on the quant section MORE THAN ONCE, which I hadn't had that issue doing practice problems. Plus that its CBT I suppose hurts some people as well.

Yes I took the GMAT back in 2003 for my MBA school. Which I will be the proud owner of a newly minted MBA with healthcare management concentration in Dec 2006 (should have had it LAST december 😡 )

As for family situation, this is pretty much permanent sad to say. 🙁 But I can't let it bother me as much. I need to move on from my past and go forward and succeed. Otherwise I'll never get into med school. 😀 POSTITIVE THINKING :luck:

Y'all are posting faster than I can read!

On a serious note...I have an issue with reading. I am slow and my comprehension has dwindled. I know that this is because I haven't ever been a big reader and that has a lot to do with the fact that I couldn't see for so many years. Does anyone have any suggestions for intellectually stimulating books that would exercise my noggin?

I know this may seem trite but honestly reading the newspaper (like WSP) and magazines like the economist/newsweek/stuff like that really does help. Even if you sit with your dictionary sometimes. The dictionary makes you look cool. The theasaurus makes you even COOLER.

well PW if you want something on a high level--maybe try to get a bioethics textbook from the library or something--philosophy will always give ya a good headache. plus philosophy passages often show up on the mcat--i had 2 extremely difficult ones--if i hadn't taken any philosophy classes i would have been sol

😳 I thought it was a little higher than that. But after re-reading your post, sorry I thought you were asking something else. For intellectual you've got me. I'm sure magazines and interest journals that you like to read would work though. Usually for reading comprehension that type of stuff helps though.

Interesting. The more competitive schools might I actually don't know that much about the joint programs but the ones in our area didn't require the GMAT with a certain MCAT.

That stinks though. I could see why they want it though. 🙁 Plus how COMPETITIVE it is with GMAT scores on the rise every year. The average for top schools are like 670 or something like that. And those numbers might be a year or two old!!!

Have you read the Lord of the Rings series? They are difficult and slow-going (it took me like half a year to read all of them) but it is a great story and there is a lot to think about.

They may not actually. I was pissed because I took the GRE because it said on paper that MSTPs wanted the GRE but in real life you didn't have to take it. So find out for sure from the programs - could save you a lot of money and time.
