This trouble shooting isn't going to get us far I fear. Apparently they had a mycoplasm problem about a month ago and cleaned the incubator. I really don't know. But what I'm doing now probably isn'tgoing to pinpoint much at this point. But hey, I'm trying and the PI is the one that gave methe instructions 😉

actually i just checkedand it was cleaned for the same problem back on 6/19

Grrr. You are definitely in the 95%. I feel for you. And I am ridiculously happy that I decided not to work in my old lab this summer. 😀

If they just became contaminated recently ( last night or so) try diluting the cell culture into many, many dilutions and see if you can start a clean one. But it may be too infected at this point, yeast sucks. 👎

Well I'm glad its not a yeast at least and that is something I had thought of but the PI just said to change the media on the flasks and go with my experiment (chamber slides). So its just cells treated with hormones. There wasn't alot of contaimination but I did want to change flasks and he said just change media and let it be. blast.

I've been looking for an excuse to go back to Vegas. I've been their twice (my wedding and with a bunch of girlfriends) and it is so much fun there.

It was vegas but chicago wasn't far behind. Some people mentioned the weather, others mentioned how expensive vegas would be. I also thought about how alot of stuff is 21+ in vegas so I didn't know if that would be an issue either. I still wish it would be in vegas but the way it sounds is that things are towards chitown. Maybe we'll convince vegas the year after 😉

Mushy, we had this debate before. I think the population density within the driving radius of Chitown is greater than that of LV. For a first time event, not many people will drop serious coin to get there until it is a proven success.

btw... they're 22.49 at sports authority. i'm hoping they didn't have the x2 for the same price... cause i'm going back to get them

I triaged 23 patients this morning in 2 hours!! 😱 I am SO INSANELY TIRED and I can't switch back to thinking in English. I've started speaking in Spanish twice to the nurse who just cracks up each time. :laugh:

sometimes its easy to forget to eat. when i get too involved in something i will remembe when someone tells me to do it.

heh, reminds me of back when i was volunteering... i wouldn't get up from my seat until after 4pm... when all the pastries in au bon pan went half off!

I see you're point but that wasn't the main reason why vegas got nixed. Cost seemed to be an issue, but as I said, I'm not sure what is going on with it.
