its funny how i've never been there beary, i've only been to the coasts.

I've never been to the northwest. Other than that I've been pretty much everywhere in the US. I grew up in NY, NJ, and Montreal. Then moved to the midwest.

Yup. I went to some park today where we got to see Lake Michigan. It was like a little beach but it smelled soooooooo horribly though the water looked this gorgeous shade of blue and the park behind it was pretty cool with its trails.

Other then that I reviewed old practice tests I took.

I was in Madison last night for a party. We are actually at Grafton near Milwaukee or part of Milwaukee. i think its a suburb but I'm not sure.

Madison is only like an hour and a half drive from my aunt/uncle's house.

Their son goes to UWisconsin Madison for undergrad, and the friend who's house they took us to on 4th of July, in Madison, works at MCW.

The drive from Chicago was only like 2.5 hours which wasn't that bad.

yeah lake erie is so gross too......bunch of rocks and dead fish

Q HATES these threads. she literally told me last summer that we should close down the first version of the random thread since the mcat was over and we didnt need it anymore.
I do NOT hate these threads. I only hated the first one, because the OP was kind of a shady character. You know I have my SDNers that I have to watch to make sure they're not up to no good. :meanie:

I want to buy some A&M ones but I figure I should see where I am going to med school first. Might make me stick out like a sore thumb at UTMB

You won't need to buy scrubs in med school - you can just "borrow" them.

What does UTMB stand for?

ooooh, we did the Seattle to Vancouver drive a few years ago, trying to take mostly side roads up. the whole trip was amazing.

I just remember we got off the plane in Seattle and said "yeah, I can see why people want to move here".

Mods can also post in closed threads. I could have cheated and gotten the ten thousandth post, but I refrained. 🙂

your profs dog?
Yes. She has a bouvier. He's a big dog. He's super friendly, but every now and then he decides to bark, and man, the woof that comes out of that dog will just blow your ears off, besides scaring the living daylight out of you.

A-man, you better stop talking trash about me. I see YOU trying to turn the randomites against me. 😡

had you done that there would have been a revolt.

why didnt you give it a closing message though? "Done" isnt dignified for a 10,000 post thread. Go edit it and give it some dignity. 😀

you really do need to get up to the Midwest. take a trip on I-70 across Indiana and Illinois if you want to see flat. I do miss the hills in SW OH.

i'm not sure molly but i dont think babies can take hemodialysis, the pressures involved are just too high for a newborn. i'm pretty sure thats why the babies are on peritoneal. great question though, i wish i would have thought of it this afternoon! 🙂

in general though, when choosing between peritoneal vs hemodialysis in adults it all depends on the patient. if the patient lives in a rural area far away from a dialysis center, peritoneal is a great option. its also great for patients who just dont want to take out all the time to go through the hemodialysis sessions every week, peritoneal can be done at night while you sleep and then again during your lunch hour for example. thats what i remember from the lecture a year ago. some patients just cant handle that much self care though, i'm sure you know what i'm talking about since you have healthcare experience so for those hemodialysis is a given.

blah blah

wtf? i'm submitting that to the AAMC for inclusion as an MCAT verbal answer choice.
I would love to write the MCAT for the AAMC. Can you imagine? Naturally, I'd call my form the QQ test form. 😀

Haven't you people ever heard of sit-ins? I'm having a post-in.
