Just a quick update: First off Arscenic congratulations on your USMLE score I’m glad all your options are still open, you must be thrilled. I just returned from my appointment and I was told I have ………….a muscle imbalance, astigmatism and short sightedness…. The good news is I don’t need glasses as yet but would eventually as the condition progresses undoubtedly. But that’s all right because I don’t mind once my vision isn’t impaired I’m contented. In other news I did manage to complete that bio essay which she marked it turned out well though. I have two more questions to complete for tomorrow and some calculations for chem. We have come to the end of respiration and are due to start photosynthesis tomorrow, I am not too fond of plant bio but I will make the best of it and learn the theory undoubtedly. I need to write my paper on Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis still more reading required before it can be completed but it’s coming along nicely. I am worried about results in mid august I wish they wont keep us waiting so long. I really do want to get into med next yr I’ll do anything to get in even if it means retaking all of last years classes (I hope it doesn’t come to that but in the event that it does I would do it all over again), I don’t want to do anything else to be completely honest with you I really hope I get accepted next year else well I’d apply to SGU and do a 2 yr premed course and apply to do med afterwards. So the upcoming weekend I need to review respiration, photosynthesis, redox reactions, rates of reactions and chem. equlibria. I love chem. year 2 so far its a lot easier than yr 1 the content seems less intense than last year or it could be that it seems that way because we are used to it by now but whatever the reason I wont complain

I'm going to make magnets from the picture to give to people at her birthday party. We'll see how those turn out, though!

I got nailed in the mouth with a softball the day I got my braces put on.

Stupid girl right in front of me during a pickup game: "I've got it! I've got it! I've got it"

pause

"I don't have it!"

*ball slams into jlw's mouth*

Same thing happened to me when I was 13. I ended up chipping a tooth.

Lightning fried my router last night. I'm still having a hard time getting Vonage to work again in a VONAGE router.

Yeah, what is up with all these storms and no heat relief? Today was the second day in a row we had a power outage at the hospital. And there was a fire at the same time. I think they were related.

The huge Ann Arbor art fair is going on now but I am not going to go in this heat.

It hasn't rained a drop in the whole 10 days I've been here. I don't expect it to either 😀

I'm hungry. Not much to eat in my house.

*stares dejectedly at canned soup*

Tomorrow I am going to get groceries and gas. Really. 😳
Me too girl. I don't want any of the food I have in the house. I don't want to eat anything too spicy but the thought of soup makes me sick. I haven't been eating much anyways. I have only had two waffles so far today. Plus I lost 5 lbs this past week. I'll take everything I can get at this point.

Tomorrow hopefully the last day of heat issues. I saw a bulletin board that said the temp was 112. I know it was only up to about 105 or so today I think but tomorrow is supposed to be the last day!!!

I wish I could bring you some good food. 🙁
Eh, I'm getting around ok. I went to petsmart to try to return something but they don't have what I want so I'm trying what I already bought. I want to go and get something to eat but I'm not sure what. I might just go get a milkshake 😀

Hey beary, Do you know anything about Post Sophmore Path Fellowships?
You take a whole year for path reasearch in between MS2 and MS3 right?

I know some about them (didn't do one though). It isn't research oriented. You will basically rotate like the residents and spend most of your time on surg path or autopsy. At least at Iowa, the PSF are assigned to a resident for several weeks at a time and basically help them out. So on surg path, you would be grossing in specimens and then signing them out. It looks like a great experience and you learn a lot.

They are paid positions. Not every institution has them (we don't at Mich). It would give you a great idea what a career in path is like. Generally, lots of these folks go on to path residencies. They tend to end up saying it was a "wasted year" since you end up learning everything you do during your PSF during your residency anyway. So there are pros and cons.

yaah did a PSF if you want to ask him more about it.

MILKSHAKE

That sounds fabulous.

There is a Red Robin in Ypsilanti (like 7 miles away). I just found it the other day. Maybe this weekend I will get a burger and milkshake from there. 😍

Hmm...I suppose if path was crazy competitive it would be very helpful but otherwise it does seem kinda like a wasted year (financially speaking).

yeah i'm feeling abit hungry myself. off to find some food yummy*. Oh And beary yeah its alot but thats why i have the entire weekend, besides i'm familiar with most of it cause we finished the topics this week so i just need to stay one step ahead of the game . I'm doing very well, thanks!!

Residency is pretty good. An adjustment but overall a significant improvement over med school. 😀 I am getting kind of tired this week and am very excited about the weekend. 😎

Cheers to you too!

My brother told me that he and my niece were talking about books and where they come from. He told her that they come from the library or the bookstore. She said, "No, they come from Aunt Beary." 😍

She loves me being a doctor. She wants to be a doctor when she grows up like me. 😍 I have gotten her little toy medical kits and she is always checking her animals and dolls. (I didn't tell her I'm a pathologist. :meanie: )

Best wishes on your full length tomorrow!
