3rd time is a charm! 🙂 Welcome to the best thread on SDN: The Random Non-MCAT thread--PART 3!

This is a place to chill and talk about anything besides the MCAT. 😎

Yes, Williams used Renault engines at one point. 🙂 Next season they'll switch to Toyota power from Cosworth.

I'm glad there are only 2 races between now and MCAT test day. For me, the race weekends me no studying whatsoever.

My school's scale is 4.0, 3.5, 3.0, 2.5, etc...I think AMCAS is 4, 3.7 (A-), etc...strange.
I think they will probably use A, AB, B, BC, C etc. scale for you. I might be wrong though. Check out the AMCAS applicants help.

I haven't watched too much F1 lately I was really into it when Damon Hill was in his prime and Schumacher was just coming onto the scene.

I don't blame you. F1 hasn't been as good as it was before imo. The FIA keeps trying to make it a spec series. I.e. Next year, Microsoft (of all companies) will be the sole provider of the car ECUs. Michelin is leaving because the FIA only wants 1 tire supplier, it's getting bad.

Plus, my favorite driver, Montoya, left to NASCAR. I liked him because he was the only guy who actually showed his personality, didn't care about being a PR driver. On top of that, he was the only guy never afraid to try and make a pass on Michael. Really a loss for F1 he's gone now. I'm not sure I will watch as closely next year.

Thanks for the answers on GPA 🙂

On a side note, I might miss F1 quali AND mcat studying next Saturday. I might make the 2.5 hour trip to Naples from Orlando to go to a car museum (invite only, small groups). Too bad I can't take pictures 🙁 Not even cell phones are allowed regardless of camera feature. I know they have a McLaren F1. Possibly a Porsche 917 <- 😀 AWESOME!

Last time I went to a car show instead of studying was back in April. I had two finals (biochem and business law) on a Tuesday up in Gainesville, UF. I made the trip that weekend to Orlando. Didn't study much and got a B+ in law 🙁 At least I saw a different McLaren F1 there! Plus, I drove with alongside an F40! I eventually got a ride in the F40 on July 2nd 😀

Is it a private collection of some sort?

Yes, Collier Automotive Musuem. Pretty big collection actually. Not sure exactly what he has since very few people get a chance to go. I'm waiting from the guy organizing it if he can verify if the F1 will be there. If it is there, 99% I'm going to make the trip. It closed to the public in 1994 and I don't think the cars get driven much. That part is just really sad.

Hey Williams,

Wow, another racing fan. 👍 I should change my name to BearyNASCAR. 😛 I am excited about Montoya coming over here. You should start watching NASCAR instead. 😎

I will 🙂 I've been watching the Daytona 500 for as long as I remember. Only super speedways have really interested me, plus I live close to Daytona. You won't believe how loud that place gets when you're on the beach!!!

Montoya is my favorite current driver of any series so I will just follow where he goes. Can't say I'm a fan of Dodge, though. I like Ford and Chevy over that. The GT40 (all MK variants) and Ford powered Cobras have always been my favorite American muscle cars. First gen Camaro in a close 3rd. 🙂 Dodge...meh..not on the scale.

Well, it's time for me to go to sleep. Gotta wake up in about 8 hours. Read over EK Bio, Physics, Orgo again. Then onto some new Chappelle's Show!

That's awesome that you live close to Daytona. The super speedways are my favorite races too, with the really short tracks being a close second. I think some of the mile and a half ovals get sort of boring.

Totally agreed on the Dodge. Their performance has just sucked lately.

I am going to the NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Michigan International Speedway on August 20! Got a pre-race pit pass too! 😎

beary we are in chat wondering.......what does a house officer do? and why are you called that?

It is just a different term for resident. I don't know why they are called that here.

Maybe I will come to chat to clear up any lingering issues. 😉

Um... Dodge Challenger? Dodge Charger? Chrysler Roadrunner?

All very good classic muscle cars. And the hemi is kick-@ss!

Morning everyone!

BB- I saw the request to use my "patented line" last night. Perhaps you weren't in chat the night we discussed it, but that line's more of a Shareware-type thing. The intention (per my friend who originated the "B, p!" phenomenon) is to get as many people as possible incorporating it into their everyday vocabularies. After all, if you test it once or twice, you'll find that the phrase is incredibly useful in many situations.

Teach on, man. No permission needed.
