Sorry, I can't read or write. 🙁 I meant live. 👍

no problem

although I will pose a question I've posted before:

is it more embarrassing to say that you're from Missouri, or to admit that you choose to live there? 😳

it's kind of like the Tootsie Pop question, I think- the world may never know. 🙄

I would love to debate this but I have some Jane Austen to read. :barf:

Hey VD! I am not sure I really understand your question. I don't know the term "red bone marrow" - do you mean precursor red cells? The "amount" of bone marrow is pretty constant, but you can make more cells. For example, in leukemia, the bone marrow is taken over with white cells, causing way too many cells in the bone marrow, but anemia because there is no room for the precursor reds.

Regarding anemia, there are basically two broad types: decreased production, or increased losses. So someone could have increased destruction of red blood cells, their bone marrow would try to compensate by churning out more, but not be able to keep up. A hemepath would be able to figure this out pretty easily, probably even from a peripheral smear without requiring a bone marrow (unless there really is a bone marrow infiltrative process, which would probably cause more symptoms than just anemia - platelets or white cells would probably be down too.)
Sorry - I was reading that off of a MRI and got confused, she has increased bone marrow signal in her tibia (MRI was for an unrelated injury). I couldn't get the images 😡 all I could get was the report and I'm not up on radiologist speak but I assume that meant increased cells, though I could be wrong. A friend just got a confusing MRI and CBC and I was trying to solve the puzzle before she went to the doctor tommorrow.

Just make sure to get an A in the class. Save your first B for your last semester like I did. LMFAO!

The only reason I'm keeping this class is because we can revise our papers as many times as we want. 😀

what exactly is this class? and why'd you choose this one?

"19th Century British Novel." 11 loooong books like Vanity Fair, Emma, Great Expectations, etc. The professor is a good guy though and I like his re-grading policy.

I'm still shopping around for another English class since my alma mater is the most anal med school around when it comes to pre-reqs (no AP) and their due date (this semester). I have two more possibilities tomorrow, one of which is unfortunately at 8 AM.

I struggle with the longer books (ADD, boredom). What are your other options?

At least these were classics. I raced to the library and saved myself $150. Plus there should be plenty of, well, study guides readily available.

Intro to Poetry this morning is still a possibility, but the daily thought papers and 40 minute presentation in Literary and Cultural Analysis was put on the chopping block.

Two different sections of a general lit class are up for grabs tomorrow, one of which I'm almost certain is taught by a hippy based on the book selection. My senior lab is really screwing over my schedule and I'm trying to keep Fridays free for interviews. Damn attendance policies.

I sincerely hope that your interview is in October, so that I can make sugar cookies with red and white icing for you while we're playing in the post-season. :meanie: 😀

What's the post-season? 😕 I don't think I've seen one since my first birthday as you pointed out earlier. *sobs*

What's wrong with hippies? :meanie:

that totally would have ruled it out for me.

I just found some stuff from grad school last weekend. In my Group Theory and Practice class, the class itself was a "group", and we had to write a process card after each class/session. I remember HATING that class (or at least the people in it), so it was pretty funny to read these index cards from almost 10 yrs ago about how I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. 🙄
