I have to share my nasty salesperson story. We decided to buy a new car when I found out I was pregnant last time because we couldn't fit two carseats in the old car. I decided to drive to the next town over to look at the cars at the Chrysler dealership there. My husband was working, but I figured I would bring him back if we worked out a deal on something I liked.
So, I get there and ask to see their used models (we were planning on going with a 2004 Pacifica to save a little money). There was one that was perfect so I asked the guy if we could go inside to talk money. He told me "Sorry, we won't talk to you without your husband here." Ummmm, EXCUSE ME?! I believe that was my exact response. I told him that I make the financial decisions in this family and if we worked out a deal we could come back that evening and sign the papers. His response "Sorry it's our policy. We've had too many deals fall through after we just talked to the wife so your husband needs to be here if he's going to be on the paperwork." I asked if they had this same policy for husbands present without their wives and his response was "No." I was LIVID!!!!!! I had driven nearly an hour with a 15 month old and first trimester pregnant (ie tired and sick to my stomach) only to have this a$$hole not even talk to me.
So, I went back to the dealership locally. They didn't have any used cars but we just decided to go with a new one (which I LOVE, so in the end I'm happy about it). I told them about my experience with their competition. It was freaking hilarious - the salesman wouldn't even LOOK at my husband when we were working out the final details of the sale for fear of making me mad and losing the deal.
