Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Yup.

10 provinces: From West to East: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland

3 Territories: Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut

Just don't ask me to name the 50 states and 2 territories

when did this Nunavut come about? It wasn't around when I lived in Canada fifteen years ago, and I just noticed it on a map earlier this year

👍 Nice job

(I'm learning to give credit where credit is due)

yeah i think he played for some akron school--damn i had a chance to get his autograph one time before he was famous--crap

Amare Staudimire (sp?) went to a local high school of mine. One of my friends got his autograph when they played our school the summer before he went to the NBA.

Actually, he played against Tracy McGrady's brother who was on our team, but Tracy never signs autographs. 🙁

Nunavut is fairly new (~5yrs). It's the western half of the old Northwest Territories

LOL...It has something to do with the Inuit wanting their own territory I guess. I just live in the south...they can have the far north. Brrrr!!

What part of Canada did you live in?

Do people actually live that far north? I thought it was all trees and bears!

They do. Actually, a good part of it is north of the tree line, so it's tundra and bears, and seals, and caribou. It's mostly natives living up there, and miners.

i think there is a lot of oil, mining, natural gas up there... so people work with that, but other than that it's all eskimos... or inuit rather 🙄 😉 ...

i am dead serious about this moose question canuck

I haven't seen a moose myself, but they are about 2 hours north of where I live. A friend of mine actually did research on moose detecting systems for vehicles. You think hitting a deer is bad, but moose can be deadly

There's this guy I know on another forum who charted his plane to some people way up north in Canada. He's been gone 4 months and he said it's very cold up there. I dont' know what they do there.

Toronto for a bit, then Windsor

Toronto for a bit, then Windsor

I was actually in Windsor today... crossing the border felt so strange, the Canadians looked bored and pretty much waved us through, but coming back the US had sniffing dogs all over the place and were rummaging through the cars while you were still in line... must have been terror alert syracuse orange or something

Fish? Hunt? That's about it if you have to fly in

I heard Montreal has underground tunnels that connect the city together, is that true? (or was it Toronto?)

UMP, submit your primary yet?

i have tests tomorrow, thursday, friday... probably won't get done til saturday... I've been outlining all my ideas, I even started to just free-write to get something down on paper, but it was all crap. 🙁 I think I might be putting too much stock in to this PS business and I'm just freaking myself out about it

I found out why. 4AM to 7PM 7 days a week he's working.

G`day everyone,

As some of the vets already know, I`m leaving on Monday morning for Schefferville Qc, on the Quebec/Labrador border till October. Schefferville is an old mining town which in its hay day had well over 15,000 inhabitants. The mine closed down in the late 70`s and its now become an outpost renowned for its Caribou and fishing outfitters. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schefferville )

I probably wont have access to a computer other than once a week if I`m lucky. With that said, I wanted to thank you all (the good the bad and the ugly) for keeping me entertained for hours on end during the last few months.

Thanks guys,

See you in October.

Regards,
Louis

I know there are tunnels and underground malls through a large portion of downtown in Toronto... I don't know if that's what you were thinking of
