Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Usually it's shaven before a show/competition/etc. but on a regular basis that's kinda bothersome.

ditto. Mostly. If I don't shower in the morning I have to shower at night because i feel so gross. Also b/c I try to exercise everyday ... sweat isn't great to have stuck to my body.

Ok, I'm floored right now. I was the girl who did "avg" in post-secondary education endevors. Never "aced" many tests. But between my ochem and medical micro test (which I got the highest score int he class - dunno about ochem b/c he didn't break out the stats but I know I was one of the highest) I'm just absolutely on cloud 9. I'm so excited and stoked that things in my life are finally coming together for me.

Sorry to gush 😳 but so hard to stay positive with crappy grades (especially last year in post bacc) but I am finally on the right road. It takes awhile sometimes but you can find a way somehow. 😍 Just some advice for those with "non-perfect" apps.

Ok off to walk dogs and work on grant! (at least PI is buying dinner tonight!)

my patient is losing his eye. ophthalmology is taking it out today. long story but he has out of control diabetes that led to a mucor sinus infection (a type of REALLY REALLY bad fungal infection) that cost him his right eye. yeah, diabetes is a bitch.

the attending and I are gonna try to write up the case and submit it to a medical journal to get published.

this was this pts 3rd presentation to the hospital in the last month, the first 2 times they thought it was a bacterial infection - they didnt realize it was fungal until they went in surgically yesterday to drain the sinus abscess and sent it to pathology.

That's sad A-man. I saw a few mucor cases present just like that when I was on micro.

That's great that you might get a paper out of it though!!! I need to be more aggressive about finding things to publish here at MI.

So you go to med school, become a pathologist, and we can go into practice together.
