Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

We've been through highs and lows in Part 5. From the final matches of Andre Agassi's career to the loss of the World's friend, Mr. Steve Irwin. May he rest in piece.

With all that said, let the green flag wave! Boogity Boogity Boogity!!!

That's sad A-man. I saw a few mucor cases present just like that when I was on micro.

That's great that you might get a paper out of it though!!! I need to be more aggressive about finding things to publish here at MI.

totally bittersweet. i feel so bad for him but this was necessary to save the eye. i was just reading the CT report from 3 weeks ago, everything was normal then in terms of the eye muscles and orbit anatomy. who the hell would think he had mucor though, the classic sign is that black discharge we learn for step 1 but he didnt have any of that, it was totally confined to the right sinuses and everything was telling us it was bacterial. 🙁

Whoa - okay the link to the pic is gone from my PM inbox. WTF? Can mods edit private messages?

no way VD, no one has access to those. i actually couldnt see the links to the pics you'd sent me recently either until i clicked reply to tell you about it. when i hit reply i saw the links in the quote, weird. try that.

Thanks for the save. 👍

Why am I not surprised? :meanie:

You Randommes aren't going to get me to join chats at this rate. 😉

For the record, not every score twin was high when taking the exam.

 Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Phew. *wipes brow*

Hooray Mushy!

Damn dude, you read every post even if you are pages behind! Maybe A-man can take a few pages out of your poetry book. 😉

Congrats Mushy! Keep up the good work. I know you'll finish on top. 🙂

I just had a burrito. Chipotle burrito.

 I think the Randomite definition of studying has been warped these past few days.

Agreed. I'm sure as heck not working on this boring talk for 14 hours.

Of course, the two residents on chemistry and micro with me refuse to even do their talks, so I think the mere fact that I will show up and mumble some boring stuff gives me points. 👍

Concluding point: Decomposing bodies produce ethanol. This makes concluding blood alcohol concentration at time of death very hard. The end.

My post-count fell below 20/day due to this week's schoolwork. Unacceptable!

+pad+

I average less than 8 posts per day!!!! How can this be?? 😱

I didn't post for a long time after I signed up, so that is part of it, but have been posting for a long time now. 😎

Ok, I'm floored right now. I was the girl who did "avg" in post-secondary education endevors. Never "aced" many tests. But between my ochem and medical micro test (which I got the highest score int he class - dunno about ochem b/c he didn't break out the stats but I know I was one of the highest) I'm just absolutely on cloud 9. I'm so excited and stoked that things in my life are finally coming together for me.

Sorry to gush 😳 but so hard to stay positive with crappy grades (especially last year in post bacc) but I am finally on the right road. It takes awhile sometimes but you can find a way somehow. 😍 Just some advice for those with "non-perfect" apps.

Ok off to walk dogs and work on grant! (at least PI is buying dinner tonight!)

Awesome Mush! Beyond cool!

Oooh, ethanol chemistry. I might just end up a path HO after all.

dude, i use to love chem. LOVE IT, i got my degree in chem and everything.

medicine >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> chemistry

q will find this out eventually. now.... toxicology and emergency medicine... nice mix. 😀

Ethanol? From fermentation? So all those reports I hear about autopsy drunk driving are inaccurate? Very interesting. You learn something new from Beary everyday!

Yes, brevity is a gift. 😀

It's a staple in my diet 😛 Particularly when I have a nasty cold (which is going away by tomorrow...or else!!)

I haven't gotten sick in who knows how long. I must've been in eary middle school (~11 y.o.) when I got sick last. Had Sprite and crackers, turned down soup. It's just like a chicken salad, but with way too much freakin' water, yuck.

Edit: I did have an ear infection 2 years after that. Not fun at all.

I was like that too, not being sick in forever. But my sick-free days came to an end this time last year. New tradition I guess 🙁
