Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

With all that said, let the green flag wave! Boogity Boogity Boogity!!!

Oh and in regards to the rest of this post, yeah I agree there are good outcomes but I could never be a surgeon. I think I'll leave that for the guys or few gals that really are up to that life. I would rather have a good life style specialty or have a specialty that may not be a good lifestyle necessary but that is not too procedure based in terms of surgical kind of things. In other words, something like neurology or internal med and its subspecialties would be much better fit with me.
Neuro is too contemplative for me. Too much thinking, not enough doing.
Shadowed for 2 weeks.

So you ever going to do you avatar experiment to see how many people join on? Let me guess, robots with the American flag in the background?

woah... either that was someone else or my memory is shot

give this woman a scalpel

Surgey is something I don't think I could do for a career, but I would enjoy it a lot in rotations. With my luck, I will break my hands in some stupid accident early in my career or my hands will get too shakey and vision screwed up. They'll force me to retire. I would be PISSED.

ok they should just take all the surgery stuff out of GA

This show is cracking me up tonight. I'm not all caught up and didn't see the surgery yet, but let's just say that their days are a bit more exciting than mine.

I just sit around fully clothed all day.

Surgery is definitely more physical than some things, but a major injury or disability would screw up just about any career. If something happened to my vision, I could never be a pathologist.

It was your idea, but the robots and flags was just a guess on my part. You were thinking about changing your avatar and I posted up the full pic where you cropped Elmo.

ah yes...
I know it was a brilliant idea, but I forgot what it was... I might have to go find that

LMAO.

Well what the heck??? I don't want a job where I wear clothes all day. Should I just call the school and withdraw my application now?

Agreed. That was a big part of why I didn't do psych. 2 more months of neuro.

I always thought pysch docs do more counselling rather than just prescribing meds for their patients. I spoke to an internist who re-did a residency in psych 'cause she thought it was easier lifestyle-wise.

So anyone want to take bets on when I will hear from the medical school??

I'm guessing tomorrow afternoon I will get a knock on the door from the mailman with a certified letter. And, of course, it will be while I am at radiology getting some testing done (PM if you want details, I'm not really wanting to talk about this publicly! And guys beware - remember I was at the ob/gyn today). So I won't be able to find out until Saturday because the post office will be closed by the time I get home tomorrow. 😡

Or maybe I could put a note on the door for the mailman telling him to knock on the other door where my husband works so he can sign for my medical school rejection.

I'm not stressed out or pessimistic or anything right now.

wow... look at all those cupcakes... yum, best part of this show methinks

I may have to start watching Grey's Anatomy just so I know WTF you people are talking about.

Although I am feeling a little better about my pop-culture IQ... I guessed what "FTW" stood for and when I checked Urban Dictionary, I was right... but then, the fact that I went and checked is nothing more than a testament to my utter unhip-ness.

So, essentially, I'm very confused.

But I'm very happy, since I'm allowing myself some time off tonight and I had some wine. 🙂

So you were unsure? Did you think it meant Faster Than Light?

FTL!
