Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

whats funny is that at someplace someplace all the students are placed into academic societies when they start med school, basically like clubs made up of students from all 4 classes where the junior and senior students teach the freshman and sophomores clinical skills. the name of my society is "courvoisier", after the surgeon. :laugh:

at least thats what the founders told the school it was named after. :meanie:

beary--i know. i'm seriously really afraid of them....you know my aunt and uncle live out in the desert in cali and they get scorpions in their house. also when we lived in the bahamas when i was little we would get crabs from the beach in our house.

Hey guys - I just NOW got back from the social (no I'm not drunk.... much.) It was really what I needed the night before the interview. I do so much better in small groups of people because I think I get a high off of making them laugh. The people were really cool and I had a really great conversation with some 1st years. Funny though - of the interviewees I only met one that didn't seem like a complete tool. The med student I'm staying with is awesome and has great dogs - stress free night for me.

So Evo: Did you ever answer your question about that one girl? Or did you give up? 😛

Um, I was getting a weird vibe. Not sure if she was into me and couldn't talk with her interviewee (the one staying with her) around, or if it was just that she didn't want to talk but was being nice.

Which means that she probably wasn't into me. 😉 But then I've always gotten a weird vibe from her. Heh.

I had a mouse in my boot once. It was way in the tip of my boot. I put my boot on, and sort of felt like my sock was bunched up funny. I walked probably half a mile, and then it was driving me crazy so I decided to straighten out my sock or the stuffing in my boot. Middle of the road, middle of the night, snow everywhere, standing on one foot, stuck my hand in my boot to pull out a mouse. 😱 😱 😱

I checked my shoes every day for like 3 years after that.

It is really unbelievable the number of totally nasty emails I have from work people last week because I didn't do things right away because I was out of town. 😡 *sigh* Shouldn't have checked my work email before going to bed I guess. I will take care of all of these uber-emergencies tomorrow. 🙄 It's all just stupid bureaucratic paperwork anyway.

Morning everyone! Today is a big day!

And I'm up at 5am because the hubby had to leave for OKC for the week. Good news is he has off next weekend well at least Saturday and Sunday and I'm trying to arrange to go visit him. Just hope the weather is nice enough I can leave the dogs for a day or two outside with lots of food. Or I'll just have to get the neighbors to feed them.

They FINALLY got me internet the computer in the microscope lab so I can download the software I need. (beary - were going to trying scion). Its taking forever to load though and I hope it has a lab manual too. *crosses fingers*

Hey Peeps! HAd a 2 hour break between classes so I decided to drive home and chill by myself! Yeah!! :clap:

A bunch of interesting posts today. MM is in school today...*sniff, sniff* our little Randomme is growing up so quickly.

What doesn't seem quite right about beary's fear of millipedes...yet she chops up body parts for a living? 😉

And the mouse story... OK..THAT TOTALLY FREAKED MY OUT! I wouldn't have been able to walk with even a bunched up sock in there. BTW, who was more greatful that he was out? You...or the mouse?? Poor little fella! :laugh:
