Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Interesting article about HIV patients living long enough to die from other natural causes.
Interesting article. But what if they just don't know that much about the other mechanisms and its actually the HIV virus that is causing these "other" issues. Or at least allowing an accelerated rate of this disease to take course.

Such interesting ideas out there and so little known. That is why I 😍 medicine

Beary - Ok I'm trying my "weight loss energy pills" again. Hopefully they weren't the cause of salmonella last time :meanie: I just need energy jump start to get on a schedule.

I really need to eat better. Oreos and sugary cereals will NOT help 😳 But I'm not a tofu chick and hate salads unless made a certain way. *sigh* Why am I such the picky eater? I need like rachel ray to make all my meals or something. Domestic goddess I am NOT!

:laugh: have you seen rachael ray's bottom lately? i think having her make all your meals would do more harm than good! 😛

I'm hoping to put together a huge sticky in the forum so that way maybe some of the pre-meds will have a "direct" source to keep up with issues facing the medical profession.

This epic purple better be cool - it cost me 140 gold at the auction house. For those of you who don't play WoW, that is a FORTUNE. It looks very cool on my head I must say. But since WoW went down right after I got it, I haven't gotten to try it out yet! 😡

Why am I home sick on a day when WoW is down? 🙁

Good luck! I am REALLY working on eating better too. I majorly need to lose weight for so many reasons. It's already negatively impacting my health at 28! And silly things like my feet hurting, huffing and puffing when I take stairs, etc. We'll help each other on this. 🙂
 
I huff and puff when I take the stairs too...I haven't significantly exercised over the past year 🙁

Two words. Crock pot. Throw in some chicken, veggies, spices/herbs, water, let it cook, eat when done. Easy! Seriously been saving me this week, AND my husband is eating better, too. With a little prep, you can make most anything in the crock pot!

jlw - how was your orgo exam?

had mine this morning. Tougher than I thought. He gave us a practice exam that was infinitely easier than the real exam and told us the two would have similar questions. NOT!

not too bad- similar to the practice exam, so it was pretty straightforward. sorry to hear yours was tougher. 👎

I 😍 my crockpot. I have family who are jealous b/c mine has a "keep warm" setting in addition to high/low.

Probably my most frequent dishes are chicken, corned beef with potatoes (b/c I don't like cabbage), white chicken chili, southern-style green beans, pot roast with veggies, and when I have to take a potluck dish- a broccoli-cheese dip that rocks my world and is FABULOUS with Fritos Scoops. 👍

Yep crock pots rule. I have 3. 2 big ones and a little appetizer-sized one.

I need to learn to cook just a little bit. Seriously, cooking for me is opening the easy mac, measuring the one cup of water, putting it in microwave, and then adding the cheese powder. 😳

Crockpots are just as easy. Get yourself a crock-pot cookbook (actually I have 2 of the same one I could send you if you want! Seriously!), buy the ingredients and toss em' all together per directions.

usually directions go like this:

place meat in crock pot
chop veggies and add
add whatever spices, water, or other liquids special to recipe
Cook on high/low for x number of hours.
Enjoy.

Sometimes it's a little more involved - maybe cooking hamburger for a certain recipe or extra chopping, but overall extremely simple cooking.
