Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

i didnt start watching it until a couple of months ago, funny show. USA has a good line up with monk and 4400, i really really like the 4400. the dead zone is a good show too.

ha, did you ever read when i said that one of the attendings told us he doesnt want parrots, he wants eagles? he hates slackers and wants us to be excellent, very good is not good enough for medicine. hence.... was i a parrot or an eagle? truthfully, i think i'm a pigeon - i strive for parrot. :laugh:

yeah I've only seen dead zone once but it was good. Haven't seen 4400. I'm supposed to go to the lab and stare at a microscope today for a couple of hours. Blah.

I've also noticed that some wines have alot of sulfur content that give me headaches. I had one most of the night 🙁 I'll be happy for sleep tonight.

4400 is interesting, you should rent season 1 on DVD to familiarize yourself with it. that season was only like 5 episodes. :laugh:

sorry about the headaches mush. dont certain types of wines have less sulfur than others? hmm.... i'm sure you could get some good tips with a web search.

is it wrong that i'm smiling after having seriously said that about OB/GYN? 😎

we'll see how the rest of the rotations go, i might fall in love with medicine or just straight surgery for example but i really like the mix in this specialty.

all wines sold in the US are packed with sulfites. even imported wines must have sulfites added before they can be sold here. it sucks, and that's what gives people wine headaches.

solution: travel to europe and buy all the wine you can get your hands on and then bring it back (in your checked luggage of course...no liquids on the plane!!)

Nah it isn't wrong. I'm sure you once you find out what you really are suited for you'll be happy. Every speciality has its nich. 😀 If its ob/gyn so be it.

i thought the game was great until we blew it with that challenge - i cant believe nick saban hesitated like that. you SO know that TD would have been overturned s&m. in the end really the best team did win, i'll be a dolphins fan until i die, even if they go 0-16, i just love our dolphins but they were playing the champs. we did ok but like i said, the better team won that game.

something about delivering babies also makes you feel really good... just that constant infusion of new life you know? weird to explain but i thought that was cool too. crazy how my perceptions of this field and its residents changed in just 6 weeks. :laugh:

I hear ya. I'm hoping my shadowing in the NICU will bring me some of those experiences. If I decide to do a specialty, I have a feeling this will be up there. Its just so interesting!

So I had a good swim yesterday and I forgot to let the lovely randomite ladies know why.

I showed up a bit late but the doors were still locked so I knocked on the door and the lifeguards (who know me) let me in and I got to see the last few minutes of what was going on. Apparently they were doing some kind of ROTC water training program. That's right ladies - lots of really ripped guys in wet BDUs. 👍 Why didn't I go into the military? 😍 Trust me, it was not the swimming that got my heart rate up yesterday :laugh:

I have to admit there was some mad use of the camera phone :laugh:

I did it more to get a laugh out of the lifeguards though. :meanie:

Edit: I was not a bootchaser at A&M (that's what we call the girls who go after the Corp guys) but they definitely made for nice eye-candy all over campus.
