Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Ugh - the trickles of stuff left is the worst part I think.
And it's all stuff that wasn't important enough to make it into one of the first three trips, so I just sit there and look at it and wonder if I should just throw it out instead of carting it down. 🙂

Brilliant! So that's the secret!

No wonder I didn't crack 40. 😛
I told him what I scored (because he wrote one of my LOR so I thought I'd be nice and keep in touch) apparently he's been anouncing it in his class and he says it should be in the student news paper 😱 PLEASE NO!!!

Yessss!! Toss it!! My roomie and I tossed a couch because we didn't want to move it. It sucked though - when the boys picked it up 3 of the springs fell out of the bottom.

 My poor dumpster has been getting quite the workout this summer. I took some stuff over to Goodwill, too. 🙂

ha, watch out - you'll end up on the front page of the schools website. 😍

i am surrounded by eagles :scared:
Heh. I'm definitely more like the parrot.

I like parrots better than eagles anyway.

I'd really like to be a macaw, though. I think that is what I would say to your attending... "Sir, I am neither an eagle nor a parrot. I do not fit into your little binary paradigm. I am a bird of a different feather altogether. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Good day!"

Hey A-man: I'm sure you rocked that exam. I bet you're going to miss looking at Ho-has all day, huh?

Is this a possible specialty for you?

it actually is VD, i liked it a lot. i hated GYN oncology though, i only did it for a week but it was just soooooo not me. too depressing. Obstetrics was kick ass because it was the opposite, everyone is so happy. even the sick moms, they want to do good for their babies. Gyn was also good, i didnt get more than 2 aromatics in the whole 2 weeks and scrubbed into a lot of surgeries. i just love the mix you get with this field.

My cousin works as a translater (her Spanish is much better  ) at the Maternity ward at IU's teaching hospital. She says it's the best job she's ever had and she really feels like she makes a difference.

Way to go!! I'm really glad you found something you like 😀

i would have loved to see that.

this guy was brilliant but soooooo intimidating though, he spoke slowly but very forcefully as if he was about to explode at any moment. trust me, if he was looking at you all you would have said was "Sir, I am..... um, i..... i'm just gonna step out for a second, be right back."

Probably very true. 🙂

I think it's awesome that you found something that you're so interested in, Arsenic.

thanks m&m, we got a talk from one of the attendings yesterday on what its like to be an ob/gyn in private practice and that really helped break down some of my hesitation over going into this field. we'll see, funny how something you thought you'd never like could be so cool. the mix of surgery, clinic and ER is just sweeeeeeeeet.

:luck: to Evo and Arsenic on their tests!
Thanks!!! 🙂

good luck dude! hope it was better than you thought it was going to be last night.
Eh, we'll see. I think this exam was all about limiting the damage. 🙁 I feel a bit better though, because ~60% of the class took the entire time. 😱 That never happens....

Thanks!!! 🙂

glad its over bro. we had monster exams like that too where everyone takes the whole time. whens your next one?

So I had a good swim yesterday and I forgot to let the lovely randomite ladies know why.

I showed up a bit late but the doors were still locked so I knocked on the door and the lifeguards (who know me) let me in and I got to see the last few minutes of what was going on. Apparently they were doing some kind of ROTC water training program. That's right ladies - lots of really ripped guys in wet BDUs. 👍 Why didn't I go into the military? 😍 Trust me, it was not the swimming that got my heart rate up yesterday

oh you like military guys huh? that's veryy interesting

how exciting--i'm happy you found something that you like so much

I forgot how much I HATE speaking in front of large groups. I hope they got something out of it. I should have used the chance to plug SDN but I forgot. Got lots of questions though, which is good.

What's up randomites?!!!

I'm going crazy looking at SMP information......arghhhhh!!!!!

awwww nikki you are to cute!!!!

Anastasis,

You crack me up with your comments on military men!!! 😛

I have to admit there was some mad use of the camera phone

I did it more to get a laugh out of the lifeguards though. :meanie:

Edit: I was not a bootchaser at A&M (that's what we call the girls who go after the Corp guys) but they definitely made for nice eye-candy all over campus.

Bootchasing goes both ways as navy uniforms look quite fetching on women too. As exhibit 1, I present Demi Moore in A Few Good Men.
