Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

We've been through highs and lows in Part 5. From the final matches of Andre Agassi's career to the loss of the World's friend, Mr. Steve Irwin. May he rest in piece.

With all that said, let the green flag wave! Boogity Boogity Boogity!!!

Maybe I'll try Fatburger.......new franchise just came to the neighborhood....I think it started in LA.

I'm exhausted and plan to be up for another 6-8 hrs studying. 🙁

I try to do too much at once. Its bad. I know. But I'm taking on like 3 different research projects not including my own. A delicate balance of life.

And I'm offically a klutz. Took a huge spill running to my car to get to class this mornign at the med school. Knee and elbow are banged up pretty bad. And my pants have a huge hole in the knee area. I'm going to try to put a patch or something there.

But the good news is since I'm involved in so many projects my chances of getting my name on a paper have increased like 300% 😀 Plus there is a really cool topic that I would LOVE to do more research on. 👍

But for now ... I'm off.

We really don't turn the heat on until the temps reach freezing. Our house is very well insulated so it stays warm enough if the windows are closed and cool enough with them open.

So if the temps stay from about 40-85 we have the windows open and some fans running and that's it!

mushy, I can sympathize. For some reason this week I have been feeling really beat.

I don't know if it's that school has finally settled into the 4th week and school + work has caught up with me emotionally (and physically) or what. For some reason around 1-2pm every day I find myself in such a tired stupor that I've been re-arranging my clients to morning/evening times to avoid the afternoons. I literally feel like I'm that drunk-type of tired where I can't keep my eyes open, and it's a struggle during therapy. If I let myself take a nap, I could sleep for hours upon hours instead of 1-2 hours. AND I sleep at least 8 hours at night, usually more! I also started working out every day to help relieve stress, but still I'm more tired than ever.

My thyroid medication shouldn't be the culprit, so I don't know what the deal is. I know I have anxiety issues so maybe that's wreaking havoc with my body. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow anyway and will ask about it.
With that, I'm going to post a blog, and then take a nap. I hate that it wastes time, but I'm sitting here feeling butt-exhausted and all I can think about is sleep!

Try a veggie burger.

lol, funny thing is i usually order a veggie burger (no i'm not vegetarian, i just prefer veggie burgers most of the time), but this time i want the good ol' fatty meat burger.....it's only minutes before my husband comes home....i can't wait!!!

Mmmm, am actually enjoying a $1 double cheeseburger as I post.

Why would the school I am applying to want official transcripts now? 😕 Do they usually ask for that even before an interview?

And I officially HATE organic chemistry lab. It's the first class I have truely hated since my psychology of prejudice class way back in 1999. UGH!!! They give us way too much to do in 3 hours and our experiment today didn't even work right because the TA didn't even know how to do it and gave us wrong instruction. 😡
OMG - I totally know what you mean. I HATE Ochem lab now. I'm seriously trying to figure out just how much more time I'm going to need to spend there before I'm done. I never do this because I usually love my classes but I hate every second I'm in the lab 😡

same here...i am not a vegetarian but i will order a veggie burger anyway because it is healthier.

sorry guys, after having gotten a degree in chemistry i can totally understand what its like to have a bad TA for lab. i TA'd organic for a couple of semesters before starting med school so i tried to be as prepared before lab as possible. my evals were really good so i hope i was one of the good ones. 😀

I'm making steak and eggs tonight for dinner. My body is screaming for protein for some reason.

I've never had steak & eggs in my life, but take it easy with the yolks, full of cholesterol 😉

Btw, I have had the Denny's Lumberjack Slam numerous times...mmmm.....

Mmmmm. All this burger talk is making me hungry...I should probably get something to eat for dinner.

Very true. My first orgo 1 lab TA was pretty much learning at the same time we were, wasn't AS fun. She had to leave for family reasons and we got a PhD graduate. She was always willing to help and explained everything clearly. I had a really fun time. 👍

my god, after a week on family medicine i am an expert at interpreting lipid profiles now.

I saw the movie Big Fish today. The doctor knew the pregnant woman was 7 month prego to the day and that is was a boy. Did you learn this in ob/gyn? They would call you Obi-G Wan Kenobi

i never saw the movie but did he palpate her belly at all? i can feel the uterine fundus and within a few seconds with a tape measurer tell you how pregnant a woman is. fundal height in inches = pregnancy in weeks, so if the distance from the pubic bone to top of the fundus measures 28 inches that = 28 weeks. there are nice little tricks too like at 20 weeeks the fundus is at the belly button. if i could feel the fundus above the belly button then i'd be able to tell you the woman was more than 20+ weeks without even using the tape measurer.

No, just with his eye from a few feet away and the woman was fully clothed and standing up. I didn't even notice she was pregnant til then. I will fail obgyn

I just satisfied my burger craving.......it was goooooood!!!!!!!

nah, no worries... unlike the movie, as real life doctors we will actually touch patients so you wont fail. 😀

My ochem lab (albeit this is also at a community college) actually has the prof teaching it which I love. We have plenty of time to get stuff done so I really feel for your guys with crap labs 🙁 I can see how organice chem might be a little more challenging for 4 yr universities but I think it depends on the teacher. My prof really takes the time to make sure we understand concepts and then how to apply them. So far my only compliant is he rambles.

Cool! I now have learned 3 new things today 🙂

Actually experts used to say to eat 3 eggs (w/yolks) per week due to the cholesterol, but I'm pretty sure that's no longer true and that it's okay to eat more than that.

life is good mush ,this rotation is so much less stressful. 🙂

Yuppers, it was my first time trying it but I still prefer Johnny Rockets when it comes to that type of fast food joints.

Cool, I've never tried it before. Same with White Castle, but I could buy them from the frozen food section (I hear it's not as good as fresh). What are some other burger chains that have like cult followers?
