Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

I can pretty much anything with soy.


I made tofu cheesecake one Christmas and I told my husband that we shoud bring it to his parent's Christmas party for pot luck and he was like "I can eat it, but I don't know if others can." 😱

Is there are curve? It's only the beginning of classes so I'm sure you make that C into an A at the end of the semester 😉

My husband is not a big fan of tofu, but I have gotten through to him a little bit. He likes it fried at this Thai restaurant that we used to go to before we moved. But, I don't think I would ever let him see me cutting up a block of it...I would lose him forever. 🙄

The syllabus doesn't say that she doesn't curve...just that she doesn't drop a test score under and circumstances. I have 3 more exams and a final. I can still pull an A in this course.

I have been sick since Saturday. Ugh. In fact, I skipped one of my classes today I felt so bad. I felt so guilty about it though...but I guess I should have skipped considering I couldn't walk a straight line! 😳

She's a Bengals fan before Rams fan, I can guarantee it.

Bears are doing better than expected so far (2 games in LOL). You heard about the furniture store that had the deal for free furniture if the Bears shut out the Pack, right? Bears 26, Pack 0.

That store is in between the town I live in and Plano, IL. It's next to the Walmart I go to 5 times a week.

Yea, I heard about that store. $300k worth of furniture given to 200 people. They had insurance for before in case it happened. 😛

Bengals are doing pretty good. They used to be the worst with the Cards, but now both have USC QBs and both might be in the playoffs together at the same time (so far it's only Cincy :meanie: ) Does Peter Warrick still play there? I only remember him taking clothes from Dillards or JCPenny's :laugh:

Path-related basic sciences is great! I would love to be involved in that some day. During the day to day life as a path resident there isn't a lot of time for research (just because there is so much diagnostic pathology to learn).

When you get to grad school, I would recommend that you choose a mentor who most importantly will give you great training and who you get along with. Your ultimate area of research will be whatever you do your postdoc in most likely.

Why can't I motivate myself to prep for my interview? :scared:

Would it be bad if I prefaced every answer to a healthcare ethics/current events question with "Well, I haven't researched it much but these are my thoughts ...."

:sigh:

I was bored one day and watched the videocast of the Vandy match and a guy who matched Uro at UVA came dressed as a cavalier to match day. They still made him open an envelope...LOL.

My dad got it for me. 😀 I knew I was either going to UVA or U Mich but didn't know which one! Getting that envelope is quite the suspenseful moment I must say!

have you checked out the interview feedback section of sdn? its filled with questions students were asked last year at all the different schools. its school specific so you can pick the school thats gonna interview you and read about what they tend to ask and how their day is structured.
