Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

anyone else care to offer their thoughts? Used volvo or new civic? 😉

Civics are probably more reliable and you have more warranty coverage unless the Volvo is a certified pre-owned. You never know what's really happened to a used car, even upon check up. My brother's Civic was like that and we went independent (my mom thinks it's b/c she's a woman the mechanics gave her a bad report). I'd go with new, especially since I think you're getting it for free and don't have to worry about depreciation with your money. 🙂

*sets stereo on "classical", cues 1812 Overture (with emphasis on cannons) for Dr. Durden, cranks volume to 10, and uses the only working corkscrew in the Random thread to open a nice cabernet to pour for everyone*

 I'll have you know I just bought THREE new corkscrews. 😳

yeah??? Even if it's either a really basic Civic or a loaded Volvo?? The Volvo has leather seats!!! Used cars do make me nervous, though. The Volvo would probably be a good $2k cheaper too. No sales tax if you buy from a private party.

ohhh no tax? nice--that must vary from state to state. here you do have to pay tax. i would pick the civic b/c i'm not a volvo person....plus i love that new car smell. really pay no attention to me--i give bad advice😀 😉

*takes the Tchaicovsky record off the turntable* (that's right, people, VINYL. but yes, I had a FP plastic one, too! love those yellow, blue, and red "records")

*dons acid wash jeans, rolls the legs, gets out the AquaNet and curling iron*

*big hair*

*starts chewing a big wad of gum*

*opens a couple bottles of Boone's Strawberry Hill* (the quality of the wine has to fit the music, you know)

*puts on Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet, reminisces for a while about 7th grade and how we all had a crush on JBJ when that came out........... and CRANKS that MOTHERF****** volume to MOTHERF****** TEN for Oxeye!!!!!!!!!!*

You are totally the more kick-ass DJ. 👍

Mr. T, unfortunately I will not be joining you at a hopkins interview. I got a rejection letter yesterday in the mail. It was somewhat nice and personalized...but still a rejection.

it is a super safe car.

That's hard to say. The safest car from 2000 is definitely not as safe as the safest cars from 2006. Volvo used to be touted as the safest, but MANY more companies are focusing on this area more than ever. The BMW X5 suv was the safest car tested in the US around 2001.

Dang. I still can't find mine. This unopened bottle of wine is tempting me too.
for the record, I bought a bottle of Twin Fin Cabernet Sauvignon at the grocery store a while back, and it doesn't have a cork. It was still pretty good.

(I'm a wine label *****- if I like the label, I'll try it. 🙂 )
