Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Whoa, I'm sitting here in the HO office and the senior on blood bank is getting paged like every 15 seconds. Paged again before he gets off the phone. I am going to flip out on that rotation. 😱

Ooooh, that's a good one too!

That literally happened to me once. I was walking around outside and a bird crapped on me. It got in my hair, my shirt, and my backpack. 😡

Hehe, I have been feeling like I am putting out fires but also like I am getting crapped on all the time. 😀

I don't know what it is this morning...I am WAY ahead of schedule. I guess I could be studying for my Chem exam today, but that will just make me nervous and I'm not nervous at this point.

I keep reviewing my class schedule in my head...am I missing a class? WHY do I have so much time this morning. I have watched TV, messed around on SDN, checked my email, added a short update to my blog...and I still have 15 minutes before I have to leave. This is weird. :scared:

Good luck on exams for everyone.

I ended up surprising the man last night. He's decided to apply last minute to another program so we were talking about it as it might effect my decision to apply to medical school 🙁 We'll find a way to work through it though.

Beary - sorry about teh speeding ticket.

As for the other 8 pgs from last night, I dn't have time to read. I think I'm going to nap then go into work on that grant for a little before class. Then work on it again tonight. I slept horribly last night. double beds and two big peopel don't work well. 😛

Good car, oxeye. VWs are great. Last forever, too, so you won't have to go through the whole thing again in a couple years.

thanks for all of the :luck: for the test. it was supposed to be tonight, but she's letting me take it at 12:30 so I can go to dinner with friends. (the mistake is in not asking, people! 🙂 )

Thanks a lot oxeye. How are you doing with the wait?

I am going crazy here. I don't have time for these damn blood cultures. First of all, it requires 2 cultures from two different sites, 3 times a day, for 2 days. For a grand total of 12 sticks. And how much time is that going to take with all the waiting over there?

And get this - I am the CHEMISTRY INTERN. Do we have any chemistry requisitions in chemistry? Of course not. Can I get one? No. Then I go over to the phlebotomy techs. Can they give me a requisition form? No. Oh, and let's just throw in a hard time for writing a req yourself, though I have an attending co-signature and that's what he told me to do.

So I am going to email my doc and tell him to write the damn reqs himself. This is ridiculous. I have to give a talk on Friday and do not have time to sit in phlebotomy for 2 days, which is basically what it is going to take. ARGH.

I want to keep ranting about various work things but am going to try to stop now. Perhaps a nice long blog rant will do the trick.

I'm doing a little better in verbal 🙂 .....want to finish reading all of EK by the end of this week and start doing passage based practice starting Oct then reviewing weak points.


How's the secondaries coming along?
