Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

ok Schumacher isn't first in the standings... and I found a driver I could care about: Robert Kubica... I might end up watching this thing... how late/early in the season is it right now?

Kubica is awesome. My favorite team is BMW Sauber (BMW is the only team I can relate to). He got his first podium (3rd place) in his 3rd race! 😱

There are 3 races left (18 in a season). This one in China. Then Japan next week (2AM again). Finally Brazil on Oct 22nd.

The Driver's championship is really close, only 2 points with Alonso (Spaniard) leading. His Renault does very well in the wet weather, which is why he qualified 1st and Michael 6th. The Bridgestone tires (on Michael's) are not good in the wet, but the Renault Michelin's are. This is a pretty close championship.

The constructor's championship has Ferrari ahead of Renault by a couple of points. However, both Renaults are starting 1-2 so if they finish where they are, they will take the lead again. Michael Schumacher will retire after this season so only 3 more races with him left. He was kinda forced to retire by Ferrari...

Edit: Kubica only started to race for BMW a few races ago, so he's not in title contention. However, since it's supposed to rain, anything can happen. He did very well when it rained last time so he might win. He was a test driver for them for 1/2 the season and replaced the race driver who BMW forced to retire (that guy was Canadian btw :meanie: )

that's my favorite chore.

let's swap- I'll do your dishes, you dust and vacuum for me.

I never onced used the dishwasher in college, lol. My last year there, I only used 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 frying pan, and one set of utensils. Just rinsed with water after everytime I used it.

Good day randomites!

Just wanted to say hi.......but gotta go.....off to the city to see some sites!

I just saw that he's only 21-22 years old and he's Polish 👍 It seems like teams replace their drivers constantly throughout the season, so I hope he gets to stick around... I don't even know what this depends on, though 😕

Hola peeps. I couldn't access SDN all day yesterday! Hubby could, I couldn't. Ugh. So, now there are like 20 pages to catch up on. I know this thread is awaiting some important news....anyone care to recap the last 36 hours for me?

I would die if I couldn't access SDN for a whole day. 😳

Ok finally!!!!........See you guys laters....maybe in Part 7!

Sweet. I slept in until 9:15am. Felt sooooooo good. I could vaguely feel my husband poking me this morning (with his finger, you dirty people!) but I slept right through!

I got up at, oh, about 12:30. 😀

Didn't really go to bed until 5ish though. So I don't know if that really counts, haha.

Nah, he replaced the ex-1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve. That guy sucked. Didn't win a race after that season. Only won that because his car was far better than anyone else.

A lot of the F1 guys start young. BMW has a test driver who is 20 years old. Imagine that, driver for a top team, factory BMW. He's paid, too. A lof the F1 guys pay for their seats. Only the manufacturers don't (Mercedes McLaren, BMW Sauber, Ferrari, Honda, Toyota, and Renault). Robert will stay around though. He has a lot of talent so his future will be long. Rarely do teams change drivers at top teams.

My favorite driver, Juan Pablo Montoya, left F1 himself because he started to hate it. Now he's in NASCAR. So the McLaren test driver took his seat. Don't worry about Kubica, he'll be back next year and the BMW has improved A LOT since the beginning of the season. They were placing like 16th in the first races, now easily in the top 10. It's BMW's first year as a factory team in F1. They only used to provide engines.

I remember you saying you'd go to bed right after work... what kind of drugs are you on beary? do you just rotate between amphatemines and sleeping pills throughout the day ?

I hate the fact that Michigan at Minnesota and Ohio St. at Iowa are at the same time tonight... I was really looking forward to seeing the OSU game, but I'll have to give my undivided attention to the wolverines

Yes, and the same time as the Nebraska/Kansas game! Which is on National TV!

I realize this game is not of major importance to your average football fan, but I am a HUGE Husker fan. Why oh why are they all on at the same time. 😡 I could have had 10 hours of sheer football enjoyment today.

I'm sorry! Was my response mean?

I seriously need to work on my internet communication skills. People often seem to think I am pissed off or something when I am not at all.

 It sounded like you were sarcastic. I use "thanks for filling me in" and "thanks for the update" in a sarcastic sense so I guessed you were doing the same. It came off like you weren't interested in watching or hearing about it and wanted to rub it in, lol!

To give you credit, it is hard to tell when someone is being sarcastic online. I couldn't tell jlw was sarcastic before about being in the same class as Meg and I figured you were being sarcastic when you actually weren't. 😳 my bad...

ok... I'll try to watch, or tivo it at least... I'll have more questions tomorrow 😀

3+ hour races are too boring. Only the last 5 laps are worth watching. You should try to catch Sunday's race. Race starts 2AM EST, so 1AM your time.

Yeah, I agree on this. Some of the NASCAR races are too long. But, I Tivo them so if there is nothing going on I just fast forward through some of it.

So far my day is going well. I just woke up and my three year old is still sleeping! I hope she is just tired and not getting sick, though.

And I need to stalk the mailman today. I'm not getting my hopes up after yesterday, though. I could so see this school making me wait until 10/2. 😡

Anyone know if you can call your local post office and pick up mail before it is delivered? Or see if you can intercept your mailman somewhere else on their route?

You're not gonna watch Iowa beat Ohio St.? :wow:

Well, some people are coming over to my friend's house so we may be doing something else. If I'm not, I'll be sure to watch. 😀

Although I am willing to bet you won't be watching any of the UF game at 3:30 EST on CBS.

ok, all- let me fill you in on something. Beary is the sweetest, nicest, most polite person you will ever meet. She is very authentic. If she's saying thanks, she means it.

I tried for an entire weekend to get her to be less polite, but I failed miserably.

I hope it's today!!!!!!

Hey rad! That's sounds like fun.

I could go to Detroit. Um, upon further thought, I'll pass on that. 😉

Detroit is like a health club... get dropped off in the middle of the city, then run for your life... You'll lose 5-10 pounds in one workout

I want to meet Beary. 🙂 I want to meet all of you actually!

That is just plain mean.

Very good quality in a mother 🙂 Set dem kids straight! Hmm...since I didn't talk about sports for your bday, I guess that means I'm getting kids for my bday. That means conception will have to be Friday Oct 6th.

I think you had a total of two posts yesterday

 It's caffeine and sleeping pills, silly. 😛

No, I did go to bed right when I got home and slept for about 2 hours. Then last night I just didn't sleep well so kept getting up to do other stuff.

 Yeah, it is basically impossible to tell when someone is being sarcastic without tone of voice and stuff. This time I was just seriously thanking you for the info.
