Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Dude, honestly, I can't run a mile non-stop. Bike riding long distances is no problem, but it hurts my joints to run.

Awesome! This is the last good season imo. Next year will be more of a spec series. 🙁 Spec ECUs from Microsoft (cue jokes about crashing computers, lol). One brand of tires (Bridgestone stays, Michelin gone). And also no further engine development. So teams with the most reliable and fastest engine will stay that way til 2008. 🙁

This last part is good for UMP. BMW's engines are the most powerful (rumored) again. So they can still work on designing a new chassis and aero work so they will be good next year. 👍

ok, all- let me fill you in on something. Beary is the sweetest, nicest, most polite person you will ever meet. She is very authentic. If she's saying thanks, she means it.

I tried for an entire weekend to get her to be less polite, but I failed miserably.

I just was looking at our path calendar and I have to present at CP case conference for the whole dept on Oct 6 AND Oct 20. WTF? 😡 That is of course in addition to another hour long seminar. *sigh*

I'm sorry, when the deadline for notifying applicants is October 1st, that means October 1st. NOT October 2nd!!! If I had submitted my application a day late would they have taken it? Of course not, but I'm supposed to tolerate them not notifying me on time?????

I'm pissed to the point of considering applying elsewhere even if they did accept me EDP. And if they didn't accept me EDP, I'm absolutely applying to UCSF and Stanford. Sorry, this school is no longer my first choice.
