My best friend JUST NOW called me that she is in the Detroit airport on a layover and was wondering if I could come visit. I would have gone if she had told me ahead of time but I can't make it now. 🙁

that happened to me a few months ago. my friend from WI apparently had a delayed flight which caused her to miss her connection in STL. she wound up having a 6 hour delay, but I had appts scheduled the entire afternoon. 🙁

sucks.

But seriously - I have some type of powerful football Karma. My first year in Nebraska was 1995 which was one of the greatest, if not the greatest, college football teams ever. We won the NC in 1994, 95, and 97. In 1999 I came to Iowa. My first year there Iowa was 1-11. They got better every year and now they are a solid team! While this was happening, Nebraska went to total suckage. Now, I am in Michigan. A top 5 team! I predict that Iowa will begin to suck soon based on my special powers to affect everything around me. 😉

well, Michigan is pretty much a Top 5 team every year... although you might have prevented a further slide this year... (last year kind of sucked)

I tend to agree... unless one of the local teams is good... Tigers are solid this year, and might make a playoff run, Pistons are what basketball should be... poor Lions do and always will suck though

this week is the one time i actually hope the pats will win. i need them to beat the bungles so we have a chance of catching up with them in our division.

Sounds like a local place here in Orlando--Gooding's. Very nice place. They had more locations, but closed some down because they weren't doing so well. I guess some people won't pay for more. Especially when my closest one was in the same shopping plaza as Publix.

One expensive place was in Columbia, Maryland. This place called Giant (stupid name btw). Their chicken was $6 a pound! WTF! 😱 It's like $4 max at Publix. I shop at Sam's Club (owned by Wal-Mart). It's less than $2/lb for the boneless skiness chicken breast from Tyson.

I like Albertson's, too, but Publix has been opening some very nice stores around town.

Maybe try Sam's Club? It's owned by Wal-Mart and it's cheaper. The waiting lines are MUCH SHORTER. I just went to a Wal-Mart a few days ago. The lines take forever, wow, not even worth my time.

Haha I always shop at Giant (I think they are based in Harrisburg or Hershey) They are starting to get a little fancier too, but the prices are usually ok if you have the Giant discount club card.

Western Pa has a store with an even worse name- Giant Eagle :laugh:

I can only remember cheering for professional teams 1. When I was 6 and cheering for the Cowboys because I didn't know any better 😛 and 2. for the Spurs which is the only professional I will ever love 😍
