Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

This is going to be hard to believe for you folks, but "back in the day" in Iowa City I went to parties all the time. So much so, that I showed up at practically every part occuring at any time. I became known as the "Paris Hilton of Iowa City." :laugh:

Anyway, I got sent home. I was told my choices were 1) the ER, or 2) home. I went with 2. Though they are going to page me if a case comes in. But nonetheless, I am very happy to be able to lay down and shiver in my own bed instead of the couch in the resident's room. Autopsy work piles up over time with getting slides back, signing out cases, etc., but obviously nothing has piled up yet. So hopefully I'll have a few hours before getting paged. *crosses fingers*

Thanks A-man. Unfortunately I just got called in. That's ok though, I still had a much needed 1.5 hour respite. Now I should be able to get through the end of the day for sure. 😉

Crap - guess why Vandy hasn't gotten back to me?

They never got my sig page and application fee. 😡

Anyone have the link to Vandy's secondary? I'm at school so I don't have my letter handy.

ugh jeez, that sucks! sorry, didn't apply there, so i can't really help. hopefully you'll find it soon though.

i just had a similar situation happen with case western...they claim they never got my committee letter (which was sent to them on VirtualEval back in AUGUST!)...i found out they had a problem downloading letters on the day mine was sent, and it took until i called for them to figure it out.

woohoo!!! not AMCAS verified yet but I got my first secondary from a school that doesn't pre-screen... I get to start worrying about not doing things on time again! :laugh:

I guess that commercial/song doesn't work for the Big East in that case. You know what I'm talking about. "Saturday, Saturday, Saaaaturday, Saturday, Saturday."

I'm rooting for Louisville btw because they will lose in the following week to Rutgers and/or Pitt because of being worn out. If they win those 3, more power to them. It would be hard to deny the BCS championship game from them.

Yeah it should be an interesting game. Louisville has been able to keep moving foward despite some setbacks, but I think WVU's run game will be too much

I was talking about that little song they play on ESPN during commercials for something on college football. It's not Elton for sure, lol. 😀

Nice job on the secondary UMP. 👍 Get crackin' on that shit. I've sent all my crap in and waiting for a couple more schools get to get my LORs (Virtual Evals) and I'll be complete at all. I've been complete at Maryland for only like 5 days, but I don't want to wait anymore. :barf:

hey guys! posting from the doctor's office in the psych ward. i'm done with my discharge summaries, i have to wait until 430 though to see if there are any admits sent up from the ER. i told my partner to leave since i have to be around for a 5pm meeting anyways for student gov. blah... i need to take some advil though, damn headache.

i'm sorry beary. yeah, i'm gonna start going to sleep at 9 or 10. this whole waking up at 5am thing is killing me since ive been going to sleep at midnight or later everynight and HAVENT been driking any coffee for a week. hence my headache today is from not sleeping enough.... i just cant wait until i'm off this rotation.

I have endocarditis. Takes a LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGG time to recover. Actually, I still have active infection, so don't even think I am at the "recovery" stage yet.

I just had to go pick up some charts in the cardiothoracic SICU. Um... yeah. Not somewhere I want to be anytime EVER. *crosses surgery off list*

It was kind of shocking to me actually. The units/wards/whatever you want to call it are SO MUCH nicer at Iowa than they are here at Michigan.

Emailed them because I still have no letter. They emailed me back letting me know I wasn't complete. I could have SWORN I'd gotten a complete letter.
