how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

UMP, I've been working on this for a little over a week now. If you look at the content's box. I re-did (3) because it looked like crap, added (4), (6), (7), (8). Yes, the Roster and Statistics took a while. I'm just glad the updated statistics haven't been posted on our team's website yet as I don't want to enter them in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Florida_Gators_football_team

Here's Michigan's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Michigan_Wolverines_football_team

Dude, nice work 😱

I got into Houston!! WHOOP!!

And actually since it's the 15th I can tell y'all that the other school is San Antonio.

Oh man! I get choices! This rocks!!

HOORAY ANA!!!

BTW: can someone explain to me how that texas match system works ?

Dude, nice work 😱

I'm surprised there aren't any Wiki college basketball pages, only football. I'm too lazy and don't give enough of a shat to make one. I prefer watching and reading about football over bball (I like playing bball more, though). It's like a game of chess that can be studied. Even though my Gators won the championship and it was fun as hell to watch, it gets sloppy sometimes and even today when we won 86-40 (yes, more than doubled). NBA is cleaner play since the refs are not as lenient...

I forgot to mention I'm currently downloading the Florida - South Carolina game from this past weekend. 😀 I hope it's an HDTV rip. UMP, I suggest you do the same after this weekend if the news is good on your side. 😉

I know people here won't know what I'm talking about here (or care), but I think this past weekend's game was the biggest in UF history at home. It was our former coach's first return to the Swamp as an opponent. The man who won the Heisman trophy in 1966 while playing at UF (UF's first Heisman). The man who won us our only championship. The man who put us on the map and nicknamed our stadium the Swamp. An incredibly close game where both sides only had 7 drives EACH, 51 first downs combined, and 1 turnover combined. To have it end as dramatically as that and literally at the last second--incredible.

Okay, I'm done for now. Still happy from Saturday. 😀

It's different this year... but last year you would get interview invites then you would rank them (before the 15th of January I think) and then on the 1st of Feburary you'd "match" somewhere. It's kinda like residency.

But now you can get "pre-match" offers so everyone's totally confused as to how the match will work this year. 👎

well congrats, you have an acceptance in the bag! 👍
right?
and it still means you could get in to other TMDAS schools later ? 😕

Yeah pretty much. If I interviewed at some place I liked better than the acceptance I have in hand, then I could participate in the match and rank the other school higher, but I would still keep the acceptance in hand if the other school didn't take me.

It's getting way too complicated I think.

Hehehe, I was about to go to sleep (2 AM) here, but Sun Sports (FSN owned), is replaying the UF game from Saturday. 4th quarter right now. I need to see it again!!! 😀

Sweet. 🙂

I think people would call me crazy for turning down Harvard for Florida, but what can ya do. If you love something, why give it up. 🙂

I'd turn down Harvard for San Antonio or Houston in a heartbeat. Still waiting on Baylor but even if I don't get accepted anywhere else I'm still super excited.

I swear, I worked my ass off for this and it feels so good! I can't wait til you guys get in and you know what I'm talking about! 😉 🙂 😍

I was already excited as hell when I got an interview invite from Florida State, our biggest rival. 🙂 If I got an acceptance from there, I can't imagine what I'd feel. I'd probably go crazy!

A response recap....

CONGRATS DR. ANA! You rawk!! Choices are tough and it will make the decision so much more difficult when Baylor comes calling.

WTG Nik! You are working so hard...no more interventions for you!

Sorry beary...😍 Oh, and 13 days with Ma? OMG. When? *TypeA is glad she has not bought train ticket yet*

AWESOME DURDEN! Congrats man!

 word, there are so many of us! i should be finding out from pitt sometime this week *bites fingers nervously*...

and the rest of the schools sometime next century!

Good luck with Pitt! How close is the campus to the Steeler's stadium? 😀

Hopefully this list is right:

Accepted: oxeye, ana. Applying: s&m, lil, nikki
Accepted: Fe, Durden. Applying: ump, tee, and me

Did I miss anyone?

I have the feeling a few soccer clubs (football) would disagree with that. I still think the Yankees - Red Sox is even larger. Just think about the size of the two cities and States...

I saw it mentioned on ESPN today about the poll they did. I feel that's too narrow of an outlet to poll people. Not many people visit ESPN.com frequently and don't hear about the polls much. I don't even bother voting on polls when I see them. The only time I do is when a team/player I like is on it, but even then I don't really care much. I'm sure if you saw who actually voted, the vast majority are either OSU or Michigan fans...

You don't go every day and then vote! :wow: What type of fan ARE you 😛

If you see the amount of people who vote, its not like its less than 10,000. Usually its a couple 10,000. I mean seriously, 72,000?

I guess one that doesn't care enough according to ESPN, lol.

72,000? That's it? That's not even enough to fill our stadium. Heck, 100x more people are on Manhattan everyday!

I'd say this past year there was a huge rivarly between the Renault and Ferrari F1 teams. People would just be bad mouthing one another, including race drivers. Figure in that over 300 million (yes, 3 hundre) tune in for EACH of 18 races (that 5% of the world, size of the US), it's big...

I still think soccer takes the cake...it was like Penny mentioned. Don't drive to OSU with Michigan plates, t-shirt, etc. For these soccer teams, don't show up in your team's clothes either. Heck, if you show up being neutral and don't visually support EITHER team, you're literally asking to get murdered. :scared:

OJ Simpson! "If I Did It, Here's How It Happened," will air Nov. 27 and Nov. 29

LOS ANGELES — Fox plans to broadcast an interview with O.J. Simpson in which the former football star discusses "how he would have committed" the slayings of his ex-wife and her friend, for which he was acquitted in a widely-watched trial, the network said.

The two-part interview, titled "O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened," will air Nov. 27 and Nov. 29, the TV network said.

Simpson has agreed to an "unrestricted" interview with book publisher Judith Regan, Fox said.

"O.J. Simpson, in his own words, tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes," the network said in a statement. "In the two-part event, Simpson describes how he would have carried out the murders he has vehemently denied committing for over a decade."

The interview will air days before Simpson's new book, "If I Did It," goes on sale Nov. 30. The book, published by Regan, "hypothetically describes how the murders would have been committed."

In a video clip on the network's Web site, an off-screen interviewer says to Simpson, "You wrote 'I have never seen so much blood in my life."'

"I don't think any two people could be murdered without everybody being covered in blood," Simpson responds.

Simpson, who now lives in Florida, was acquitted in a criminal trial of the 1994killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was later found liable in 1997 in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Goldman family.
