Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

That is disheartening. I imagine my grandfather enlisted in WWII for similar reasons, though - to kill the "Japs" and "Krauts".

You would think that with as advanced as civilization is today, people would realize killing is bad! Terrorists = death, war = death, and so on. It's like the chicken and egg thing sometimes (although I don't think we'd be in war if there was no 9-11 barring any other terrorist acts).

They're trashy. I used to like them but they have no respect for anyone but themselves. Kinda like most celebrities, though (*ahem* Mel Gibson).

Borat is funny. Try to keep an open mind, though 😉

Auburn stayed at 6 and Texas jumped them, which is bs. It's Ana's job and Beary's Nebraska to beat the living **** out of them. Nice to see BB's team not get ripped off by Texas so the computers are doing good from their point of view.

Well, I wouldn't worry too much -- he'll change his mind a bunch before he hits high school, never mind enlistment age. And if his ambition is to protect civilians from bad guys -- well, you're probably raising a pretty decent little fellow. 🙂

When I was his age I wanted to be a ballerina AND an astronaut.

Ok, a question...is it now a pre-req of this thread to have a rapper as your avatar? Gotta start looking.

Secondly, I have the deepest respect for those in the military. Killing should not be the first thing that enters one's mind when considering the military. I personally tried to enlist years ago but due to a medical issue could not. So... thanks to all those who do.

I don't know if it is a pre-req necessarily. We have a Michigan vs. St. Louis battle going on. I am very very disappointed in Mr. T. to be going around as Nelly. 😡

I agree what you said about deepest respect for those in the military. I didn't know you tried to enlist!!!!! Must tell me this story. 🙂

It will be OSU/Michigan winner vs. someone else (unless weird stuff happens to either next week, which I doubt).

The other team is still undecided. Louisville still had to play tough games against undefeated Rutgers at Rutgers (I'm rooting for Rutgers 🙂 ) and also at Pitt. They play Guju's USF at Louisville. UConn isn't worth mentioning.

If Louisville goes undefeated, they still may be surpassed by a 1 loss Texas Big 12 champion or a 1 loss SEC champion (either Florida or Auburn). Right now Florida is the highest ranked other than Louisville so if we win out, we still may have a chance even if Louisville goes undefeated.

I hope Nebraska plays Texas in the Big 12 championship game and beats them. :clap:

Which conferences have a championship game? SEC, ACC, Big 12, maybe Conference USA? I don't think the rest do. I think that's a bit unfair because a loss in one of those games would hurt more than a win since it's at the end of the season (can't recover from it).

I could not agree with you more, on both counts. 😀

The Big 12 Championship has screwed over somebody who would otherwise have gone to the NC game many times. Of course, I guess I can't really complain since if my Huskers can win they will go to a BCS game when they probably don't really "deserve" to.

I wouldn't want to see an OSU-Texas rematch in the BCS championship game. Same with a Michigan-OSU rematch in the championship game.

Btw, the name McCoy also happens to be the name of an old AF base - McCoy Air Force base. 😀 Of course today it's better known as Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Well I just called my dad and told him that something he said this morning really upset me. He said it was a joke. 🙄 So things are better between us. He needs to work on his sense of humor though. :meanie:
