:luck: mush! (and PW, too, since it sounds like you may have an exam, too!)

Yeah, I have 2. My weeks are pretty consistent...2 exams, a quiz or 2, and a paper. Next week is slow, one exam and a paper. This semester is wild. I just keep telling myself "one day at a time".

Doesn't look like any breast cases on the OR schedule today!

Also, it is supposed to be 36 today! :wow:  (recent highs have not exceeded high teens for a LONG time)

Also, it was light when I came into work today!

I think 36 is our low....tehehe.

Durden, #17 in the AP and #21 in the ESPN/Coaches. Congrats. 👍

I don't think we've ever been this high during my tenure here. I love how we're on top of Duke in the AP poll. Our baseball team also just got ranked #1 according to Collegiate Baseball after taking down Rice, Arizona St, Baylor, and Ohio.

😀 :hardy: 😀

Hey guys! I got an interview invitation for Stanford MSTP today!! (finally! I was complete in September)

Sorry oxeye, it's now StanfOrd :d

I swear, if you abandon Nellyville for sunny California........ 😡

But congrats nonetheless, you've certainly earned it.

Thanks everyone!

I just hope I'm not too rusty. It's been a while off the interview circuit.

I need the veterans opinions on this. Is this possible to do all while hopefully scoring a lot of interviews?

E & M - Hardest physics class in the department. Required for graduation.
Mechanics - Tough class, math intensive. Required for graduation.
Survey Biochem - Need to take some Biochem to apply to UM and a couple others. Not too tough but requires man hours.
Honors Seminar - Not too tough. Something fun non-science.

Now here's the question: Do I take Histology (Fall only) that supposedly makes the med school version cake but would kill my schedule and be tough with 4 hardcore science classes or a business class that I need but can be pushed back to spring?

Bowtie, that schedule sounds feasible, but I'm not so sure that the histology would be worth it. It's the missing classes that will cause you more problems than you might think, not so much the lost discretionary time. If possible, pick subjects that you can learn on your own and professors that will forgive lots of absences.

Conversely though, don't put off too much until the spring. Once you get a coveted acceptance and take a few weeks off for winter break, you'll likely lose interest in undergrad academics. I know I never thought I'd get senioritis.... :d

For the spring that would leave:
Thermodynamics - Cake physics course
Geology for Scientists -
Honors Thesis - Meh!
Cultural Diversity BS class -
Organizational Management -

and possibly Physiology.

I forgot to add, Histo and/or Biochem might be P/F

That spring schedule is definitely the way to go. 👍 👍

Could you P/F biochem and simply audit histo? You could get exposed to the material without stressing over grades and workloads.

Well Histo is always full since there is a lab component. Not sure if they'd let me audit it. Hmm...I'll talk with my advisor.

I know better than to respond to a post like that. Momma didn't raise no fool.

(Better being stuck with a drunk penguin than a dirty hippy though... meanie)

Well hey there are bunches of hippies in the SF Bay Area...but dirty ones? I dunno.

I was referring to the Republic of Texas breed of hippie. 😉

Good luck with things in CA though. No matter how rusty you might think you are, I'm sure you're still an interview rawkstar. :luck:

I know...and I bet those TX hippies can't compare to CA hippies :meanie:

Thanks for your support!

Ooooo someone has grown a set of snarky ones since he knows I won't be around to make him pay for it. :meanie:

This fall I'm taking Advanced Napping 101 and in the spring I'm taking Survey of American Reality TV.

I might also throw in some geography with a "student" trip to the UK, Ireland, and France, but most of my effort will be on my Napping and Survey classes.

*** I'm done with classes after this semester!!!!!!!!!!!!*** I've decided not to take biochem so I'm DONE. (I need to update the schools I'm applying to accordingly).

Really, though, I'm going to spend time working on my sewing and start making designer knock-off pieces. 🙂 Won't have to spend as much $$$ on the real stuff!

How did it go????????

We went through U-C this past weekend to get to Indy.
nice, they were telling us that it's only about 2 hrs to indy from U-C.

the interviews went really well. i think the program is really great. but i def. have to take the GRE before they will decide on my application. and funding can be a concern during the med school years. so we'll see what happens.
