Despite the threat of being banned by certain evil Randomite moderators on power trips, I couldn't resist posting a nice set of breasts.

Happy Thanksgiving Randomites!

I'm going to ride as an observer on the 911 ambulance service this evening. Should be fun. It's been a while since I rode. As an observer, technically, I'm not supposed to do anything, but it'll be tempting for sure.

lol. i always order "skinny" but get the whipped cream.....kinda pointless

Not entirely, I think. You still get fewer calories from saturated fat, but clearly not as much of a reduction as if it were a "no whip" drink. Still...to me, that's part of the enjoyment of these types of drinks. There's a point where you can carry it too far in terms of sacrificing enjoyment for a few extra calories and such. Yeah, life is simply too short for "no whip." 😉

or just get a can of whipped cream and dispense it into the mouth

 Only rode on one call tonight. I guess it was slow; the calm before the NYE storm. Anyway, it was a pretty standard nursing home call. I still had a great time. It was good to actually be involved in patient care on some level, even if it was only miniscule, after doing very little other than read books and notes about medicine.

How recently? The last good movie I saw was American Gangster and that was during Thanksgiving. Can't go wrong with Denzel. No sir.

that movie kicked ass.

try renting--if you want something crazy hilarious, try Knocked Up, The Simpsons Movie, Superbad

some good action movies that just came out: The Kingdom, Bourne Ultimatum, live free die hard, Oceans Thirteen, Mr. Brooks

Edy's American Idol Cheesecake Diva icecream = YUMMYYYYY

Those Edy's American Idol flavors are fantastic. The Choc 'N Roll Caramel is my fave. I'm hoping they'll stick around for a while . . .

Back home yesterday (yay!) . . . and back to work tomorrow. UGH! 😱 I have soooo much that I could do around here instead. I love going to see family for the holidays, but then I always feel like I could use a vacation after my vacation! Oh well . . . I should be thankful that I get Tuesday off.

Ditto. I've been studying less than I should and I haven't even TOUCHED school work (sadly, or maybe not, I feel as tho MCAT is more important). I know my house needs cleaning, and I'm totally rundown and need some rest! Think I'll head home Wednesday to have a few days before I have to go be in another wedding...

(always the bridesmaid....)

HAPPY NEW YEARS TO EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD! HAVE A SAFE AND FUN NEW YEARS EVE and a early HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!

😀 😀 :hardy: :hardy:

how's everyone doing?

Pretty well, PBandJ. It has been an uneventful holiday, which is good. I didn't visit with friends like I was planning to. I simply slept and watched TV. Now, I'm at once glad to go home and also relishing my last few days of sleeping in, without fear of missing critical lecture information.

Ugh, of course, I'm going back to a full schedule. I'm going to be having a bad case of the Mondays, everyday, again.

BTW, I really like your avatar. It's cute.

everyone have big plans tonight? watching football, then the ball drop, then sleep I suppose. nothing exciting. back to tpr reviews... which btw are amazing and definitely my style (MUCH different...and better for me.. than kaplan)

My friends are trying to get me to come out tonight.....but I don't want to go all the way to brooklyn. Why couldn't they live in Queens or something. Anyways, I'm trying to justify going down there when I have to crank out some more orgo. Jan. 26th, is comming soon.....I always had that feeling at least that it was in 2008, and that it was still far off....but 2008 is here.

Out of curiosity, why do you like TPR so much more thank Kaplan or (EK?, if you have tried it). Well, for the biological sciences anyway. I used only textbooks for physical sciences.

EK is great, but my bio/ps is lacking due to my minimal amt of sciences. the kaplan wasn't nearly comprehensive enough and I didn't like the way the material was presented. I love the EK methods but felt I needed deeper knowledge for the sections. Ill follow up with EK review.

*sorry for the ontopic mcat post*

do most major cities get a ball drop?

Yup, Happy New Year to the Eastern Time Zone-randomites! :hardy:

I know it's not all that far away, but I'm not sure I can stay awake for the Central Time Zone countdown, so I'll join in the celebration now! :hardy:

any of our newyorkers going out to the big one, or is that totally a tourist thing?

I've wondered the same, but I know if I were in New York right now, it would take a lot of alcohol before I'd go stand in Times Square for several hours in sub-freezing temps! Brrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

The whole alcohol thing is a bit of a myth. Although you might "feel" warmer, you may actually be losing heat more readily when under the influence of ETOH, due to it's vasodilating effects.

Bundle up. 👍

Happy new year, folks. I wish that all my friends (including my family and randomites) will have a wonderful and very blessed year. I hope that, this year, we all continue to be blessed as we move toward and into our dreams. I pray that we are loved freely by others as we give our love freely, that we all have plenty, to do everything that we want to do, and that we have easeful and friendly transitions. I wish for us to receive much more than what we give (even as we give a lot). I imagine all of us expanding, even if it is just a bit, into something new and wonderful. I hope we will have lots of joy in our lives and continue to live in appreciation. 🙂

Don't know but I know a lot of people just watch the NYC ball drop on tv where I live. I always come to my parents home town which isn't that big of a city for new years and spend it with one of my brothers at one of their parties. We just watch it on tv. That's what my parents do as well.
