Despite the threat of being banned by certain evil Randomite moderators on power trips, I couldn't resist posting a nice set of breasts.

Happy Thanksgiving Randomites!

first day back was...intimidating. man, i thought last semester was rough. now i find out that's nothing compared to this one. we have neuroscience, physiology, histology, and microbio/immunology that span the whole semester.

how are things going for you?

You guys have micro/immuno in first year???

Weird. At the Fl. schools they do most of that stuff in second year.

I know at USF they do micro/immuno with pharm and a few other classes in second year and do all the basics of anatomy, physio, histo, biochem, etc. in first year.

1/4 cup butter

5 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

1/2 tsp vanilla

5 1/2 cups krispies

1. melt butter over stove

2. add marshmallows and stir until melted

3. remove from heat, stir in vanilla, add krispies, stir, dump in pan and DEVOUR

now there's something that will make that mcat studying much easier

Dude you are totally making me hungry by all the talk of sweet stuff!!

Have you ever been to borders and seen their gigantic rice krispy treats with M&Ms inside of them? I'd get one but those things are too huge.

I like homemade better anyhow. marshmellows are the best. Marshmellows are especially awesome in hot cocoa.

I have some micro and immuno first year. However, we go by systems, so it's a bit different. We cover all of the basic sciences for each system as we go. Currently we are in the middle of cardiopulm.

here, too.

I called Anastasis today as I walked a whole whopping block to the bank. What I wanted to know is "What the hell is WRONG with people?" I was regretting not putting my scarf on under my wool coat, although my gloves were keeping my hands quite toasty. The temp was 32, and the wind chill was about 24. The girl about 20 yards in front of me was in a sweatshirt, capri pants, and FLIP FLOPS. :scared:

that girl needs your services. Stat.

mmmmmm, sounds good to me! 🙂

Just realized my roughdraft cell phys paper is due next Friday. Suppose I should get my butt in gear (I've got about a half a page done).

Back to the stem cell debate. Catch you guys in a little while, when I'm at least halfway done 🙂

Wow, I haven't been on SDN for what feels like forever...long enough for http://forums.studentdoctor.net/ to disappear from my history!😱 I was super-busy with exams and stuff, then cleaning my house and enjoying things I hadn't had time to do, like knitting! Now I've started the next semester, it doesn't look too bad so far. I'm taking 6 courses, but I can already tell that at least 1 of them is a complete joke (German), so I only need to spend about 30 mins a week on it, which is nice, because my research course is probably going to take up a large chunk of my time. I've got my first meeting tomorrow to discuss what exactly I'll be doing, somewhat anxious! Most importantly, it requires me to be up at 8:30, which is something I haven't done for a while, hehe. Otherwise, I'm waiting for Queen's cutoffs to be posted, which should be any day...last year it was in the end of December, but this time they said "in the first half of January...." gah.🙄 Canadian invites come out in about a month, so pretty soon.:scared:

In other news, I'm on our boxing club's first fight card and they are looking for someone for me. I'm pretty stoked! I had to start on a pretty strict diet so I could drop some fat, even though one of my coaches keeps saying I'm ready as is - but I know it'll be easier for me if I'm 10-20 lbs lighter (and then I'll be ripped and scary-looking, which is an important psychological factor, hehehe :meanie:). First day was rough, but I've adjusted to the whole 6-7 meals a day/200 g protein a day/no carbs before bed/no processed food kind of deal and the weight is coming off fast. I'm also bumping my weight training from 1x a week full-body to 3x a week splits, and I think I'll go from 3x10 routine to a 5x5 for these sessions. I'm also gonna add a day of interval speed work so my anaerobic capacity improves for the ring. Overall, I'm ready to kick some ass! My friend has another fight in a little less than 3 weeks, and I'll be up there scoping for some chicks to fight myself next time. I feel pretty confident now - I think in 1.5 months, I could take on any amateur with less than 10 fights.:meanie: Can't wait for them to get someone for me so that I have an actual date set to look forward (and train) to!👍

you're so disciplined, jochi. I wish I had half of that discipline!!

finished the rough draft of my cell phys stem cell paper except for the reference page and i'll be finished well before next friday.

Man, I need me some shiso leaf sauce for my tofu! Soy sauce just isn't hitting the spot...

looks like it's LSU for the national title

poor Ohio st losing 2 national title games in a row

Bwahahahaha I'm sorry but i don't feel sorry for OSU.

Of course UF is part of the SEC and where oldest brother went and one of the best friends of second brother went. So I'm all for an SEC team. Plus this OSU girl was so being annoying when I went to foodfest at the zoo in Tampa and she saw my second bro wearing a UF shirt.

I'd love to see that girl's reaction now.

As per Giants winning to bucs BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! 🙁

You suck! j/k. 😉

Ugh, I think I have "dontwanna" syndrome, as in "I dontwanna study..." It's holiday inertia that drags on past its time. For me, it's the brain equivalent of "lead feet."

How does the raffle work for the thing in your signature? Also, what do they mean participate in those forums to be part of the raffle because there were no threads? What type of participation do they want?

yayy giants! 😀

It's a rare playoff victory. I don't even remember the last time we won a playoff game (oh yeah, in 2000) 😱

Really? cuz Giants did kick ass against the Patriots even though they didn't win. I mean they were pretty close to winning.

by the way, check this news story out

Congrats, gradu8! Saw it on your Facebook, thought I'd pop in here and say hi.:hardy:

Got more details about my fight, it'll be end of February here in town (great, no $/time wasted on travelling). It will also be an exhibition...the bad part about an exhibition fight is that it's not going be tallied, so it won't go on my win/loss record - and I'm definitely training to win - but the good part is, I don't need to worry about making a weight class. But I guess with the win/loss thing, it's just a matter of me doing everything I can to knock her out, since this is a fight made specifically to introduce 2 unexperienced fighters to the boxing circle, so that the promoters and other fighters themselves can take a look at us in the ring and see whether they want to sign up for tallied fights with us. But if I knock her out, it will be painfully obvious who's the winner in this exhibition, and that's kind of my goal - I'd like to send a message to everyone who's there that evening that I'm not there to mess around. This is the first time either of my coaches (40+ years of coaching experience in between the 2 of them) have had a female on their card, so this is very new to them, too.

This is a great counterbalance to all the academics...with 5 courses and a fairly demanding reseach project (which is very exciting so far!), I definitely needed a diversion, especially one that doesn't involve being sedentary.👍
