Despite the threat of being banned by certain evil Randomite moderators on power trips, I couldn't resist posting a nice set of breasts.

Happy Thanksgiving Randomites!

Mmmm. That just set off a sushi craving. Good thing I'm too lazy to go get some 😛 Could become an expensive habit
Trust me, it is.🙄 However, since I started dieting, I stopped all the other eating out I was doing, so I've saved enough to continue to justify my sushi addiction...:meanie: Sashimi and most sushi is perfect diet food, of course.👍

I've heard that sushi is good diet food.. just can't make myself eat it!

glad the week is over. four more to go until new term. wooohoo. and mondays test got pushed back to wed cause the prof wasn't ready. score!

LOL I just noticed the post from a week after thanksgiving. Didn't know you had some interviews. Congratulations on that. How did they pan out, as I'm too lazy to look at all the posts in the whole thread.

Didn't get any offers.. did get a "deferral-type" offer... One of the schools told me to retake the MCAT and i'd have a great shot.

('twas advice I already knew. oh well, the extra year will be beneficial. I've gotten used to the idea of this gap year business.)

Retaking in April, starting shadowing with pediatrician in april and hospital volunteering in May (just to boost those areas of my application as well). I'll be taking one upper level science course per trimester next year along with graduate courses, apply early, and *crossing fingers* hope for an early acceptance!

Congrats, gradu8! Saw it on your Facebook, thought I'd pop in here and say hi.:hardy:

Got more details about my fight, it'll be end of February here in town (great, no $/time wasted on travelling). It will also be an exhibition...the bad part about an exhibition fight is that it's not going be tallied, so it won't go on my win/loss record - and I'm definitely training to win - but the good part is, I don't need to worry about making a weight class. But I guess with the win/loss thing, it's just a matter of me doing everything I can to knock her out, since this is a fight made specifically to introduce 2 unexperienced fighters to the boxing circle, so that the promoters and other fighters themselves can take a look at us in the ring and see whether they want to sign up for tallied fights with us. But if I knock her out, it will be painfully obvious who's the winner in this exhibition, and that's kind of my goal - I'd like to send a message to everyone who's there that evening that I'm not there to mess around. This is the first time either of my coaches (40+ years of coaching experience in between the 2 of them) have had a female on their card, so this is very new to them, too.

This is a great counterbalance to all the academics...with 5 courses and a fairly demanding reseach project (which is very exciting so far!), I definitely needed a diversion, especially one that doesn't involve being sedentary.👍

Sounds amazing jochi! And if your app cycle doesn't pan out this year, you can always beat the ADCOMs up! 😉

So I did nothing all day and felt great, then the second I sit down and start doing homework, I get a debilitating headache. *sigh* I guess studying just isn't in the cards for me tonight...hehe.

Oh ok. That's cool. Good luck.

Oh yeah, there's a good sushi place not far from where I live. It has fantastic sushi, but is on the pricey side. You get what you pay for, I guess. Anyway, I've been keeping my cravings in check by making it a rare treat and getting grocery store sushi every now and then instead of going out to eat

Sushi is good.

MCAT is not.

Thoughts more complicated than that do not exist at this moment. 🙁

i'm not a giants fan, but since i hate the cowboys, go giants!! 🙂

Go Giants, and Go Green Bay! 🙂

Good day for football. In other news, i'm trying to write a million page (ok, ok, eight page) paper on aromatic amino acids for orgo and it's just not giving me a very fun saturday! YUCK!

That was a fun, snowy game in Green Bay this afternoon.

I'm glad to see Jacksonville is giving New England a run for their money.

My organic paper is 👎, but hopefully three weeks will be enough time to make it better...

Saturday nights on the couch are the best!

After reading those posts on the allopathic forum about people hating med school and/or regretting their career choice, I'm wondering what that's all about. Med school is fun!! I'm having a blast 😕

so the dx was dbl ear infections, a nasal infection, and atypical mycoplasm.

and I'm at school.

how hardcore (and stupid) is that? ha. I can't miss tho, and I'm not contagious anymore after one round of antibiotics.... bah

how's everyone elses monday?

OUCH THAT SOUNDS LIKE IT HURTS!!!

Hope you feel much better. I get annoyed by a simple cold much even though I've gotten sick a lot in my past from allergies yielding to sinus infection like symptoms to other such things. But that really sounds bad. Hope you are better now.

As per my Monday, just had school and studying to do. Watched some video lectures to make sense of what I couldn't in class.

Actually, don't know about your experience in the grad program you did and all, but a lot of med students I know tell me seriously speaking that they have a great time in med school despite the hardcore studying involved because though they don't have as much free time as before when they do they party harder then they did before, they make the most of their free time, and they find time to themselves and what not on a constant basis.

work work work
🙁

breathing is better tonight, and the drugs are kickin in... which means less sleep but lots of productivity. (celestone makes me wired) thought maybe itd be counteracted by the sudafed and mucinex dm they put me on, but not yet...

I'm glad monday's over!

some med students are probably masochists anyway

😉

Don't worry I'm right there with you.

Funky,

I agree that some people are masochists. Its funny to see the different responses you get from people when you ask them about their experiences in med school.

just checkin in for a short hello to let everyone know I was alive and a little better.. hoping for more sleep tonight and less cough, but I sure got a lot accomplished on that celestone high last night!

test went ok this morning... and we got ten bonus points for attempting to give blood (and considerin the antibiotics, pneumonia and weight loss putting me under one ten, needless to say I couldn't actually give) so that was a painless sign in ten points.

wow, 6 days away from SDN. it used to be in the old days that i could never stay away for more than a day. look what med school does! 😛

how's everyone doing?

I completely understand what you are talking about. 😛

how's everyone doing?

Well. Last week, I adopted a puppy--a pug, min-pin mix. She's so cute, but is about as much work as a newborn baby. I've been working hard to take care of her, do my school work, and get some sleep. It's been challenging.

awwww, i just LOVE pugs! or any mix that involves some part of a pug. 🙂 have fun with the little one!

awwww... congrats on the new arrival spicedmanna and I hope you get some sleep very soon!

Yeah, she's super cute. I like watching her sleep...her little pug-like face looks so peaceful. She's only 2.5 lbs right now. It's so cold outside that her little body can't stand it for long; this makes it hard for her to go potty, etc. I need to live somewhere warmer. 🙁

Of course, a lot of the time, she's a crazy puppy bouncing everywhere. I still haven't figured out where school work comes in. I already didn't do well in my last quiz and practical. Thank goodness I did well last semester.

I'll try to post pics of my dog when I get them on line. 🙂
