I believe tomorrow i should be complete in many schools
the premed advisor took forever to make that compilation LOR, it better be the best LOR ever since it took so long

Just got back from the ER....I hurt my hand boxing on Monday (nasty bruise and pain/slight numbness), but didn't give it much thought until the coach today mentioned how he broke his hand when he threw his very first punch at the 84 Olympics...so I freaked out and realized that my range of motion in the hurt hand was rather limited, and decided I should probably go get it X-rayed....they said it looked fine, so it's probably just a bruised nerve that'll heal shortly.

I HATE emergency rooms, but better safe than sorry.👍

thanks, guys! it's kind of surreal... really didn't expect anything until after the new MCAT scores came back.. EEK!
Congrats!

I haven't even received a secondary from them yet....lol. And I actually wouldn't mind living in Nebraska, at all.:hardy:

ERs are a pretty expensive copay with long waits arent they?

They are free here in Alberta....dunno about other provinces. The wait was not TOO bad - it was only after the x-ray was taken that I had to wait for a good while. The whole trip took about an hour. I figured, if I were gonna see my regular doc, I'd have to make sure I've got an appointment first, which would be Thursday if I'm lucky, and then I'd have to drive to the radiology clinic for the X-ray - and they take their sweet time with reading the films there, so the whole thing would've taken much longer than an hour, for sure.

I know the general ER doc visit (no procedures/imaging) is $160, because I had to pay it last year before I got provincial healthcare. I think it's way cheaper than it is in the States...I seem to have figures around $500-800 in mind for US ERs.

On another note, I will never eat KFC again! I was STARVIN' after the ER yesterday and got 3 chicken strips...they tasted kind of greasy, but I was like, whatever. And now it's 2:30 AM and I'm :barf:-ing. You don't realize how bad junk food is for you until you stop eating it for a while.👎

Work is .insane. Tomorrow I must report at 7:30 for an entire day of hell. LOL. Least it's the last one (after 5 tomorrow, you better just apply next term).

Everyone else have a decent day? I'm sure our interview invitees did 👍👍

revelation of the day: anatomy lab #2 is SOO much better than anatomy lab #1. today i felt like i really learned a lot, and it was all so interesting.

So we've had this huge jail abuse trial going on in my hometown and the verdict was just reached.. finding one guilty and the supervisor not guilty on all counts.... I'm in shock.... and have to wonder if his influence in the penal system didn't have something to do with that...

Congrats Megboo! Way to go randomites, and good luck to the rest of you awaiting interviews

Beary...I thought of you today. Our university is holding an international placenta conference. Who knew that placentas were so important?

😀
the state known for corn
can I just tell you that I called my really good friend on Long Island to give her my good news, and her IMMEDIATE response was "You're moving to NEBRASKA???????? I'm going to have to start thinking of jokes NOW..."

(I reminded her that one interview does not actually mean I'm moving there. She said she was going to work on the jokes anyway.)

megboo- and Tee if you're paying attention (btw, you've been in town for a week and you haven't called me at ALL? 😡 )-

have you seen that we have fast-food sushi now? 😍

Well one person has been busy with med school apps, and another has been busy with orientation and home-hunting 😉

OMG.  I actually sort of would like to go stand in the back and laugh at those people.

It will cost ya though. I looked on the International Federation of Placenta Associations and the fee for residents is $950 😱

But it does include accommodations, food, a boat cruise and some other touristy things...but still!

The best thing I've heard about in St. Louis is CURRY TO GO Indian food. The parents and sister of a good friend of mine live in St. Louis though they used to live in my hometown in Fl.

At any rate, she always used to tell me that when she'd go to St. Louis to see her family the curry to go Indian fast food places were so good that she'd say they were better then the sit down fancy Indian restaurants here.

seriously- I have never heard of any such thing. I mean, you can pick up a to-go order from the Indian restaurants, as with most restaurants, but I've not heard of any "fast-food" Indian, and I've lived here for 15 years...
