Sounds like tomorrow might be the day I hear from some schools. I was checking the rejection thread and Penn State and Boston were rejecting people who were complete a day before I was.

I try to avoid the interview threads because they depress me.😛

looks like gtown rejected half the applicants already

Work = blah today. It's sooo quiet (which actually makes things quite miserable.. at least busy makes the day go faster). Got my micro test this am and pwned it... A+! Only 3 A's in the class (vs. 1 B, 3 C, 3 D, and 7Fs) so I feel a little :hardy:. Now, if only tomorrow's "test" will come back an A+... :laugh:

Gram-staining for an unknown in micro lab today.. that should be fun. Then it's 4 more hours of work and 4 more of class and home just in time for a shower and Wednesday! I'm so not gonna get any sleep tonight (and who really thinks AAMC would release early?? SOOOO not likely, but I'm not giving up hope!)

Argh! So you know how I mentioned that my internet provider told me yesterday that they'd call me back within 24 hours to see what can be done about my connection? Well, it's been more than 24 hours and I have yet to hear back! Also, I tried calling them and the "estimated wait time" is 72 minutes!😱😡

I wrote a VERY angry e-mail.😡

My brain is spastic... grrr. Less than 24 hrs to go. 😱:scared:
I have class until 10, so at least i'll be somewhat distracted from 6-10 (although the class is boring so i'm sure i'll be mobile surfing..).

Dear Lord, let the time pass fast or the scores come faster!
(strangely enough, although i'm really ready to see them, i'm not feeling as anxious right now)..

OK, to summarize my classes for this semester based on a week of studying:
Orgo - alright
Ethics - alright
Environmental Chem - worst class ever
A&P - alright
Microbio - eh...


😴



And to summarize my day:
Physics grades - none yet (!)
Med school news - none yet, except for note from Columbia saying they still don't have one of my LORs/my photo
Internet - none yet! (at the public library now)

sorry to hear. Did you have at least even a 2-3 point increase or small increase in your score? Or was it closer to the previous score.

Good luck with trying to get into your state school or other low tier schools. Another option is to try to apply to a special masters program which gives a guaranteed interview.

And to clarify that last sentence, some SMPs do give guaranteed interviews but not all of them. I believe RFU is one of them that does give guaranteed interviews and accept people into their SMP program with a low score if all else is great.

thanks guys. I didn't go osteo bc there's no osteo schools close to here. I'm still trying for my state school, if not, there's always next year. and I'm sure I can do better after I've had my prereqs. for whoever askee, it was incrediby close to my previous with 1 pt+ in PS.

I know i'm doing what i'm supposed to do. its just hard to keep faith. oh well, its right. the timing just may not be. people reapply all the time right? and I won't be "past my time" appplying at 23 and starting at 24 will I?

Gradu8, I forgot, did you ever take a prep class? If you haven't, maybe it'll be a welcome change in strategy for next time, if you do not get accepted this year. If you decide to rewrite before the end of this cycle, I'd probably also wait until you're done with all your classes - you really need to focus on the MCAT 100% this time, and while I presume quitting work is not an option, I'd at least get school out of the way.

jochi - didn't take a prep but may next time. definitely waiting until april for a retake, and ill have phys I and ii, org. I and half of ii, genetics/cell phys. that should help.

meg, down one. up in the section I worried abt, which makes my state school score up one.

For crying out loud- you didn't have most of the pre-reqs done! No wonder! Now what's my excuse...... Ummmmmmmm........

Anyway, you are super young compared to some of us and super super super young compared to some of the most successful SDNers that have only recently been out of school or are in school now.

I'll be 31 almost 32 when I matriculate if (when!) I get in and pingouin is barely a year ahead of me (but she has a baby face). So don't worry! And a lot of people re-apply. There wouldn't be a separate forum if there was only a handful.

You're gonna be fine... I think maybe you were jumping the gun by taking the MCAT before the major pre-reqs. :luck:

thanks sooo much for the support guys. I feel much better and I have a plan for next year if I don't get in... ill work on grad school and possibly at a local hospital in phlebotomy or something similar. thanks again everyone. I'm headed to bed.. exhausted. oh and the phys quiz I "missed" today? take home out of the text! 👍
