Argh, not my day!

So my internet provider calls me and says my internet should be up and running...I leave the public library to head home only to see that there's a $25 parking ticket on my windshield! These meters have been out of order for as long as I've lived here, and of course they have to turn them on without putting up a sign or anything! ARGH!

So I get home, already cranky re: parking ticket (because you know, I haven't spent enough $ on med school apps, I need to pay for some more dumb crap 🙄 👎). And my internet's still down! I call them and spend about an hour on hold and then on the phone with them...they don't know what the deal is, so they have to send a technician my way. You know when the next available appt is? NEXT Friday! That's 2 weeks w/o internet at home!

ARGH!

sorry jochi. I know all about the day from hell. things arr much better here, just going to take a breath and enjoy my pre-reqs for a while. I'm not studyin again until at least january, and I've resolved myself to letting it go. with that said, I probably won't be posting upwards of twenty times a day... but I won't be too scarce. thanks for the support guys. 😍

Gradu8in2003 - what voice part do you sing? I am a Tenor II/Baritenor (at least when I sang with choir in high school and church). I got to be in the Senior Honors Choir my senior year of high school, where 200 seniors were selected from the state of Virginia. We got to take a week off of school to practice and perform under the direction of Moses Hogan (great spiritual writer/arranger). It was such a great experience. Many of my fondest memories are from my old choir days!

High Soprano. We went to Carnegie Hall last year and sang under John Rutter... ahhhhh. It was AMAZING.

Feel much better after a good night's sleep. Just water under the bridge and MAYBE an extra year, but they can't keep me out of med school.

And in april you're going DOWN Mkitty. You've royally pissed me off. :beat::beat::beat::beat:

Just to put things in perspective.... when I was in college, the internet was the newest craze, and I could download a simple message in 5 minutes at 2400 bps on my Dell 486 processor on Windows 3.1. Prior to that we also used the Gopher system for exchanges with other college students. No internet in the library. 😎

That's really cool. My choir went to NYC for my junior year and we were supposed to perform in Carnegie Hall, but it was already booked on that day so we had to sing in Lincoln Center instead. Not as prestigious, but it was still really fun!

OMFG.

Just got a forwarded e-mail from my dad. My grandma is not doing very well - recently lost one leg BTK from diabetes and broke her arm last week not even being home after 24 hours. So now she's living with my dad's sister, who just sent out a mass e-mail to the family. She has become quite the martyr, detailing how hard it is to take care of her and how she's going to have to modify her house and quit her job to take care of grandma (they live in one of those cookie-cutter subdivisions outside Chi-town).

She's taken it upon herself to take all of grandma's stuff and the rest of the family can have whatever she doesn't keep. WTF! She's also getting a monthly check from grandma for incidentals, and IMO, she SHOULD be the one to care for her, since grandma GAVE, not lent her $60k to adopt 2 kids from China. My parents got $100 once when they were struggling, but then again weren't as needy. The kicker is that she is encouraging my grandma to modify her will based on who needs money the most. And since my family is more well off than the other siblings (5 total) we don't *really* need to get as much as the rest.

What sucks now is that grandma is pretty depressed so I have to force myself to go to my aunt's house now and visit. Grrrrr. But I love my grandma.

/rant sorry for the long post - this just bites my @ss and I can't really blog about it because it's too personal.

Seriously, can someone explain to me why my physics grades still aren't up? I wrote the final on the 24th!🙄

Oh yeah, and nothing from med schools.😴

I very seriously doubt it 😉
I e-mailed....

Sorry to bug you, but I've been patiently waiting for the lab and final exam grades for 202, and every day the patience is more and more like paranoia...I thought the final was extremely difficult, so I'm very anxious to find out how I did (I hope to god I didn't fail). I've been checking the webpage like 5 times a day, so for my own sanity, I decided that I should just e-mail you and ask whether you happen to have my grades for the second set of labs and for the final exam already, or else I will drive myself nuts!
Thanks and sorry to be a pest!

I'm about to lose my mind today. 🙁 Kids have both been sick this week, which means I've been spending my afternoons with them and not at school or studying.

I'm so screwed for my biochem and histo tests next week.

I'm happy with my anatomy test results from earlier this week at least, though. 😀

BEARY! i just killed the scariest, nastiest, biggest millipede i have ever seen. it was definitely of a different species---had like 20 legs coming out of its head. i think they are morphing into superbugs. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111111111

cause of death: swiffer. those things are so fast--as soon as it saw my shadow it scurried behind the TV.

Funky, I got my 2nd rejection today, too! Boston. I didn't expect anything from them anyway, and with 100 people per spot, I'm not exactly crushed.

And third one, Penn State! I expected this one, too, since the interview e-mails had already gone out to people who were complete around my time last week. This one sucks a bit more since I think I'd enjoy living in that area and a Canadian friend of mine interviewed and got in there last year...

does anyone have a schedule of kaplans classroom course?Like when to do the discretes and their practice tests and what section to read etc...my freind gave me his stuff and i would love to do this stuff in order as i am overwhelmed.

Thanks!

TGIF guys! I'm headed to the bank/grocery/dollar tree (for colored posterboard for my grad school looks like first grade project) then home to more labs... woohoo!

ahhh yes--i have done that exact same project--lol.

i'm very happy to hear that you are optimistic about kicking mcat ass next year--just keep at it--i know much easier said than done. next year will be your year--i have no doubt

Thanks, Nik. I'm really excited. Maybe I just needed a little more time. And my state school does accept over 50% of applicants... so that score may not completely throw me out for next year. Who knows? (I know the One who does.. and He has it all under control).

But surely 6 out of 8 prereqs this year will help me bring up that score a tiny bit... 😉

Im a little apprehensive at the moment

And so I have decreed it, and so it shall be:

Wednesday, September 19, 2007, shall be Randomite Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Bring your parrot. 😀

PS For the Randettes, at least one obligatory Orlando Bloom pic is expected. If it will get Durden back in here, then yes- on Wed you can post Keira/Pirates pictures. 😀

ahoy mate! 👍

Guess who bombed the physics final!🙄 Luckily not so badly that my chance at an A- is completely gone, but I need to pull a 96.5% on labs to get an A-....last time I got 92.5% but that was because the old tool took off 6% for missing a conclusion (which was not obvious from the sample lab report due to poor formatting). I do have the conclusions this time, so hopefully I can pull off that 96.5%...:scared: A B+ will drag down my BCPM, but an A- will raise it, so it's important.

Sorry to hear to hear that, Jochi. I hope it works out for you. :luck:
