I thought the very definition of fashion was to wear what everyone thought was fashion! 😛
Actually my definition of fashion is to wear that which does not itch.

I do think this is kinda cool though:

Even if I owned it, I have no idea what would fit in it (probably no more than a credit card) but it's the principle of the thing. I always liked trapeziums (trapezia?).

Trapezoid. Trapezium sounds like a bone in your wrist.

😛 "England and America are two countries divided by a common language." (reference?)

From Wiki: "A trapezoid (American English) or trapezium (British English) is a quadrilateral two of whose sides are parallel to each other".

I did not know this prior to your response.

But I am curious about how some people turned out, so I don't know. What do y'all think?

I skipped my 10 year reunion. 10 year reunion is a little too soon for me, there are still too many people who are doing the perpetual grad school or perpetual finding themselves routine. When you ask them what they have been doing you won't be able to get them to shut up about the lives they saved in Uganda or whatever. If they are still without a significant job or purpose in life, they are still within the window of making excuses, and I can't stand those excuses.

Of course, my high school sucked because it was full of trust fund babies and future money managers, so being a doctor isn't impressive at all, it's more like, "oh, that's cute."

Ah that's kind of cool. I didn't know that. So what do the English call the trapezium (wrist bone) then?

I was miserable for 18 years in Wisconsin. I am a person who wears sweatpants and a sweatshirt when it is 80 degrees. Sometimes I get in my car in the summer and I don't turn on the air conditioning. Even when I go back in the summer, I freeze my a$$ off.

Plus there is NO fashion in Wisconsin. I've been a fashionista since about age 12, or probably before that (I had a kick butt bomber jacket in 5th grade and probably every esprit outfit ever made before that) and wisconsin ain't the place to be if you love fashion. Even shopping trips to chicago didn't appease me. I wore leather pants in 1995 and people thought I was insane. I wore pleather pants in 1996 and again, same thing. a year or two later, pleather pants took off and EVERYONE was wearing them. Who's the crazy one now? Plus people's idea of a good purse in wisconsin is a coach bag. (This is no offense to the kind people of wisconsin as most of my family still lives there, but your fashion is atrocious)
So I'm much much happier (and warmer) in texas.

Did you have any Z Cavaricci's? Back then Z Cavarrici's, along with the MC Hammer pants, were all the rage.

I had a bunch of Z. Cavaricci's both pants and shorts and lots of Skidz overalls...this was in junior high and we would go to the skating rink and ogle cute boys.

Z. Cavaricci's have to be the least flattering pants ever...I wonder what happened to mine....they would make a great halloween costume!

I only saw the overtime period, I was grossing in boobs for the early afternoon and had the game on ESPN gamecast at the grossing station.

Congrats yaah and AndyM. A good game.

I'm just glad I got home from eternal rounds early enough to see it!
I didn't see it either. I'm on call for the whole weekend and I spent about 12 hours in the hospital. I did follow the game on ESPN game tracker though occasionally...and i noticed that we won in OT.

Damn, Northwestern is looking good! They don't suck as bad as I expected. I think Northwestern is gonna spank us this year.

Just be glad you're not a tennessee fan and saw your team lose on a fumble into the end zone with 2 minutes left. I felt bad for the poor bastard who fumbled till I realized he played for Tennessee. I dislike Fat Fulmer.

It's way too cute. Almost disturbingly so. Makes me think there is something sinister like the cute animal is laughing because it just did something bad.

Sooooo cute! After a long day in Prometric Purgatory, that damn puppie is the cutest thing I've seen all day (that's including the pic of anal condyloma I had on question 7,432)

You must have had Step 2 CK today! Congrats on getting it over with! 👍

After Halloween, I am going to try to find an avatar that is as cute as deschutes'.

Well, the puppy's expression was kinda like my expression when I got on here and saw all the cute posts that you guys were posting... 😛

It really is disturbingly cute though. Every cute-ophilic cell in your body yearns to bond with it. I don't understand it, which is why I was fascinated.

I found it on a website aeons and aeons ago. I saved it - and then I lost it because I changed laptops.

And yesterday I found it again.

Yeah that's a snowy mountain in the background. One of those cutesy Japanese compositions that don't make any sense but are incorrigibly cute.

deschutes' avatar is stupid.

moving on, here are the new projected bowl matchups in college football

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2194032

beary, note that Ivan Maisel predicts that Michigan plays Nebraska in the Tampax Tampon bowl. Looks like Michigan may be in the position of beating another one of your favorite teams 😛

Tampax Tampon bowl.

I was so sad that the Huskers lost on Saturday. Before that they had only lost by 3 to Texas Tech and I thought they could be on the way back. I guess they are still better than last year.

Now...Penn State versus Virginia Tech...I would actually like to see this matchup.

I got a flat tire today. 😡

But I am grateful I was in town and not driving all across the country for interviews!

U guys sucked the wind out of my enthusiasm. 🙂 🙂

.....Virginia tech, Georgia tech, who cares! 😡 😛

The lions kicked Illinois so badly i stopped watching midway through...

Seriously though, this residency match thing is getting on my nerves and i know it is still early days.... 🙂

(Need to do the peaceful buddha meditation thing badly.....)

How did you manage to get home?

It's really getting to my nerves too. The instant I wake up in the morning I start thinking about interviews, matching, etc.

About my tire - you will laugh but I had my bicycle pump in my trunk so I pumped it up with that. And then drove it right to the tire place (about a one mile drive or so). It didn't totally blow apart or shred or anything, luckily. I sure was driving that thing like a baby carriage for that mile. 🙂

A-mazing!

Now i know what to put in my trunk when i drive around for the interviews!

All I care about is that there are more than two teams who are undefeated. Rooting for chaos in the BCS is the best way to go.

Bad things happen in threes, YOU are next in the flat tire club!

What really rocks here is that this thread is 15 months old. This may be the longest-lived thread ever on SDN. Path is by far the coolest forum as evidenced by such a long-lived and popular thread. The other forums will be excited to hear that the path forum is now granting interviews to fill its 2006 class.

To: Other SDN forums
From: SDN Department of Pathology

We have reviewed your application and have decided you might be good enough to be incorporated into our forum. We have decided that an interview with you would be appropriate. Please respond to this email in a timely manner or your slot will be given to the pre-allo forum. We only interview on selected dates this cycle so you will plan your schedule accordingly. There are many hotels around the SDN area but we recommend the SDN Bed and Breakfast-Day Spa- Plastic Surgery Center for $400/night (please note this cost will not be defrayed as it is your pleasure to meet with us). Your interview day will consist of meeting with several SDN Pathology faculty and trying to impress them with your whimsical wit, sharp comebacks, and thread derailing ability. Please be prepared to discuss any lengthy threads which you have started in the past; be careful not to overstate your role in starting said thread as all mentioned threads will be examined via the search function.
We at SDN Pathology look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,
SDN Pathology Interview Coordinator

Ah but you haven't been to The Lounge. There is only one - and very very mad - Lounge.

(See "HMTHYK?", currently on the 397th page of its third incarnation.)

Our beloved Random thread is nothing.

It does however have a couple of spawn. And we all know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. (See the MCAT forum for the "Random non-MCAT and only peripherally related to MCAT thread".)

All those leetle details aside, I am with you in the true spirit of your post 🙂 Especially with regards to the Search function!

DRATS!

In light of new evidence presented, I would like to ask the jury to strike my above remarks from the record. Perhaps I am too crazy from interview season. That being said, however, we have by far the coolest forum. I myself have not visited said 'lounge' forum but it sounds like it may be able to hang with our forum.

No way. I visit the lounge once in a while, and the occasional thread is amusing, but most of them are random uninteresting babble. Here, most threads are either amusing or informative. And, it's a bit of a smaller "community" so I feel like I "know" the people here and can root for them for interviews. 👍

This is BY FAR the coolest forum.

There is an exam on use of the search function that absolutely must be passed.

And yes, I know it is not working now, but it will be back.

its funny what a good keyword can find for you..

I have never searched Google Videos before. Now I feel very tempted, even though I should be either 1) studying for neuro, 2) studying for boards, 3) trying to remember what my research was about for interviews, or 4) trying to decide where to go on interviews.

Yeah I can't take too much of the Lounge either. It's like randomness on repeat, if there can be such a thing. If I had to liken it to a real-world setting, I'd imagine it to be a closed room where everyone is running around holding onto their hair and shrieking madly.

And then there is the extremely rare voice of reason like sacrament and yaah, sitting calmly in the middle of the floor.

Nice analogy! And then once in a while beary and deschutes walk in, look around, look at each other and say "wtf?" and go back to the path forum.

I didn't. Someone at work showed me this. I wanted to email it to a couple of friends and he told me to search "chinese" in video google.

I just can't help myself sometimes. Then I also realize a lot of the people posting there aren't even in med school yet, let alone residency. So they are all not yet jaded, poor souls.
