I can't believe hockey is back already! The question is do I become a redwings fan or stick with the Bruins. I have a hard time with the Bruins because the owner is such a piece of crap skinflint.

I haven't figured the new rules out.

This is the way I look at it - a game that involves (1) fistfights, and (2) a hard piece of rubber flying at you at speeds close to 150mph, doesn't need more "excitement" 😉

The only time i have ever watched hockey is when i had a crush on a guy in my spanish class and he was on our high schools hockey team. I used to go watch him play. Please note, i never spoke a word to him and was 3 inches taller than him. And my 12 year old cousin plays and I've gone to see him. But I did watch hockey more than once in my life.

There are great fashion opportunties for hockey though, as it is cold in the arena so you could get away with a fur coat or a mink hat. And there are very few PETA people at a hockey game, so no worries of retaliation. :laugh:

Did they limit the size of goalie pads and equipment? It's getting to the point where he can just stand there and block 95% of shots.

It's gonna be hell of a game at 3:30 pm today! And they're airing the game here today on ABC! Good thing I don't have to pay another $20 to watch the Big Blue play today.

Between that game and the USC-Notre Dame game this a wacky day. Two of the craziest and closest games I have ever seen.

I hate the Irish. But I think I hate the Trojans more. No college football player deserves to be celebrities. I mean Leinart and Bush frickin' have entourages. I so wanted them to lose this weekend so that they would walk to their basketweaving class alone and in shame and sit in the back of the class alone and in shame.

Close one though. Good game overall.

Notre dame was frickin robbed. My favorite was that penalty against #66 and they show the replay and the announcers are like "uh, well, maybe there was a hand to the face" No you idiots, there was no penalty, it is just the refs interfering so usc will win AGAIN. When they gave them back 7 seconds, my husband and i were like WTF, there wasn't even 7 seconds on the game clock when they started the last play. College football is fixed. 😡 😡 😡

Thank goodness Texas A&M won though, although when you are playing chumps like Okla. State you better win mofos.

This is why I should not watch sports.

Yeah I was flipping back and forth between the two games and actually saw that bullsh*t penalty. I liked how Leinart got sacked several times today. That boy sits in the pocket too comfortably and picks apart defenses. Not with the Irish D-line! They knocked him around and that was awesome to see. That boy needs to get his wind knocked outta him more often.
 
I hope leinfart gets B%$^slapped by a transvestite hooker named olga.

I watched the first half and then went in my room to do yoga. I started watching again with about 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter. IMO, the game was over when leinfart fell out of bounds and lost the ball. I still think notre dame won. There is just way too much manipulation by the refs. But that's what usc needs to be able to win. 😡 frickin cheaters 😡

I thought that was legitimate when the clock stopped. Douchebag had the ball knocked outta bounds thereby stopping the clock with about 7 seconds left. So my issue wasn't with that. But there were some bad calls which made it possible for them to even be in that position.

You know there was no instant replay during that game. Apparently, Pete Carroll hates instant replay. He probably cried like a bitch to not have instant replay review today.

That was per his choice as they said it was up to the visiting team to say yea or nay on instant replay and of course they chose none.

I'm just sick of the favoritism shown in reffing games. You see it in just about every sport and it disgusts me. It's as close to cheating as you can get. 😡

Mr. Pingu wishes for me to be a more calm, balanced person. Mr. Pingu does not like mood swings. As Pingu likes the benefits of being married to Mr. Pingu (shoes and jewelry) she is attempting to become calm. It is the worry of Mr. Pingu that Pingu will get herself shot due to road rage one day soon. This is one of the many reasons Mr. Pingu cites for not buying Pingu a SC430. Pingu would like a SC430 so she is trying to be a good penguin 😀

It's OK. Penn State performed better than I expected. Based on what I saw before, I really didn't respect your QB...and he was very clutch. That freshman receiver you got though, he's gonna be something special. Of course, I'm biased cuz he came from my high school.

That guy Hart is really something....he just went and went even with like 3 defensive players hanging on to him....that guy is incredible....

Id be cheering these guys next year too though....hopefully they ll get to be better next year....

I do need a guiness, how about one Andy mon?

I couldn't figure out that game. It was weird. Michigan seemed like they were dominating for a lot of the game, but Penn State had more yardage and time of possession. Then in the span of 30 seconds it went from 10-3 michigan to 18-10 PSU and had to listen to that motherscratching "we are" chant over and over. Then PSU scores with 53 seconds left to go ahead, more "we are" bull****, then UM scores on the last play and the PSU fans, band and players stood there for 5 minutes without moving.

Andy - in general UM was nearly always on tv in boston area - lots of fans there. Although now that BC is in the ACC they may start to show the ACC game, so you might be stuck with ****ty crap like FSU-Clemson and Clemson-UVA and NC State-Wake Forest. Sorry dude, that sucks.
 
Heh - no, I was actually referring to the Calgary Flames' second home game of the regular season. They've traditionally had a desultory powerplay rivalled in suckiness only by their penalty killing. Last night was their first first-period goal and shut-out (Yay Kiprusoff!) in 6 games.

I skipped my prom too...I just wanted to get the hell out of wisconsin and on with my college life in texas. There are very few people in my class I ever want to see again. Although my ten year reunion is in june and I am tempted to go, although it is a picnic, which totally spoils my plan to wear couture to my reunion.I mean, after ten years we can't fork up enough cash for a decent hotel ballroom? So I am torn, I mean, I'm a doctor(technically) and I have a great life, awesome house, cool car, pimpin shoe collection, sexy hot husband, adorable children, and my breasts are still perky but i just don't feel like going and saying 'ha ha, look at me'. But I am curious about how some people turned out, so I don't know. What do y'all think?

Those gatherings are always odd. It's a zoo (you're on display, and so is everyone else) and it's also an exercise in reducing your life story into snappy soundbites.

I normally review the list of attendees and if I can see myself spending an hour amongst them without wanting to pull my hair out, I'd consider going.

P.S. I forgot to add that since my high school is 13 time zones away at present, these situations don't come up very often for me.

It's OK. They've shown about half of the Michigan games this year...not including the ******ed ones where Michigan plays some chump opponent like Southwestern Michigan Tech.

The ACC is more exciting to watch though. They got VTech, FSU, and I guess BC. I don't think I'll become close to being a BC fan. Their stadium is pathetic...it pales big time in comparison to the BIG HOUSE!

UVA upset FSU in Charlottesville last night. That was another awesome game. FSU is so overrated this year and it was only a matter of time. This week overall was a great week of college football. And I had Saturday off so I guess I lucked out.

I was miserable for 18 years in Wisconsin. I am a person who wears sweatpants and a sweatshirt when it is 80 degrees. Sometimes I get in my car in the summer and I don't turn on the air conditioning. Even when I go back in the summer, I freeze my a$$ off.

Plus there is NO fashion in Wisconsin. I've been a fashionista since about age 12, or probably before that (I had a kick butt bomber jacket in 5th grade and probably every esprit outfit ever made before that) and wisconsin ain't the place to be if you love fashion. Even shopping trips to chicago didn't appease me. I wore leather pants in 1995 and people thought I was insane. I wore pleather pants in 1996 and again, same thing. a year or two later, pleather pants took off and EVERYONE was wearing them. Who's the crazy one now? :laugh: Plus people's idea of a good purse in wisconsin is a coach bag. (This is no offense to the kind people of wisconsin as most of my family still lives there, but your fashion is atrocious)
So I'm much much happier (and warmer) in texas.

Actually my definition of fashion is to wear that which does not itch.

Even if I owned it, I have no idea what would fit in it (probably no more than a credit card) but it's the principle of the thing. I always liked trapeziums (trapezia?).
