Why don't we go with average score? Is it the same on III as it is on I and II? I doubt I will get much more than average.
300 is the average score. the bet stands.

How about if you had sex with someone who actively had malaria at the time, and you both had open bleeding wounds that came in contact?

I would think that someone who has active malaria and open bleeding wounds would not feel like having sex.

you would think wrongly.

Yeah no kidding. If there is one thing I have learned in life, it is that people will always be having sex, no matter how gross they are, how smelly and disgusting they are, or how sick they are.

Michigan highway 14 is AWFUL. AWFUL, I tells ya.

I'm not going to ask how you learned this.

Or why it seems to be the most pertinent thing you learned.

he learned this from his grandpa.

Grandpa seems to be a wealth of um, questionable knowledge.

You are getting only selected input. Everyone has parents but not everyone has kids.

Gah. These are generic Ritz crackers. Nasty!

OK, well there are an awful lot of hideous looking people out there in parking lots and stores and movie theaters that have multiple kids in tow.

Quick random question: Somebody takes a picture of themself at a weird angle--basically the camera is looking slightly down on the face but also at an angle (you're not looking at the face dead on). What is this kind of shot called?

bananaface said:
I dunno. A profile is usually from the side. I guess it depends on how not straight on the pic is. I guess you could just call it a head shot.
Hmm...we were looking at profiles at the lab today and this came up...i could've sworn that a specific name for this kind of picture shot was mentioned in the conversation. One of the folks said that this particular kind of shot "tends to make people look more attractive" for whatever reason. Oh well, unless I can recover from this brainfart, this will bother me until tomorrow morning when I'll just ask him what the name is

maybe the erosion of beauty is due to childbearing, as sopposed to 'ugly people f***ing."

ugly men don't need explaining. They just need to be shot.

Perhaps they were born that way--bad genes.

Grrrrrrrr I hate when they tell us about presentations later than they have to. If you had told me about this on friday, it would have been a lot nicer. Now, you're just being a pain in the ass! Grrrrrrrrrrr

Maybe when you start a rotation you should ask your attending to let you know about that stuff as soon as they know.

It's not up to the attending - it's up to the clinicians who decide not to tell us that we are involved in the presentation until they have it all figured out and scheduled, and oh by the way please tell pathology and ask if they could present. 🙄 These are bone marrow transplant patient autopsies.

Yeah it happens pretty frequently. We tell them every time to give us more notice but then whoever is responsible for letting us know changes, and it all gets shot to hell.

Med school makes me very tired. So far I haven't even had any real difficult or time consuming rotations and I am beat every night. I worked more hours than this in grad school but was not this tired. Maybe I am just not used to it yet.

Yeah I found clinical years tiring too. You are often moving around a lot during the day, but there are always some significant blocks of time where you just sit on your ass and wait for something to happen.

Yes - that is the worst!! I mean, I love sitting on my ass and all, but not just waiting for something to happen in the hospital! :meanie:

HATE HATE HATE IT

HATED IT FROM MY GUT.........

Waiting for something to happen that is,.....what a waste of time!...... In the meanwhile, you can t do diddly squat with your waiting time....coz ur too stressed out with something *about* to happen.

Seriously, people who love internal medicine have no respect or appreciation for the value of time!

There, i had to rant....been having a bad day.....

My dog is throwing the remaining end of a dog bone up in the air, swiping at it, watching it hit and roll across the floor, then pouncing. It's so cute!

When you say you are just waiting for something to happen it sounds like you are working at a toll booth.

I am determined to use my time waiting for something to happen in clinic more wisely in the future. I am going to bring a book with me and study while I am just sitting around. That way I will not have to study as much at home. And if things really are slow, I'm just going to go back to lab. I haven't had the guts to do that yet but I'm getting there. :meanie:

quant - Sorry you are having a bad day. Hang in there.
