Quick random question: Somebody takes a picture of themself at a weird angle--basically the camera is looking slightly down on the face but also at an angle (you're not looking at the face dead on). What is this kind of shot called?

Hmm...we were looking at profiles at the lab today and this came up...i could've sworn that a specific name for this kind of picture shot was mentioned in the conversation. One of the folks said that this particular kind of shot "tends to make people look more attractive" for whatever reason. Oh well, unless I can recover from this brainfart, this will bother me until tomorrow morning when I'll just ask him what the name is

It's not up to the attending - it's up to the clinicians who decide not to tell us that we are involved in the presentation until they have it all figured out and scheduled, and oh by the way please tell pathology and ask if they could present. 🙄 These are bone marrow transplant patient autopsies.

Med school makes me very tired. So far I haven't even had any real difficult or time consuming rotations and I am beat every night. I worked more hours than this in grad school but was not this tired. Maybe I am just not used to it yet.

Yeah I found clinical years tiring too. You are often moving around a lot during the day, but there are always some significant blocks of time where you just sit on your ass and wait for something to happen.

When you say you are just waiting for something to happen it sounds like you are working at a toll booth.

I am determined to use my time waiting for something to happen in clinic more wisely in the future. I am going to bring a book with me and study while I am just sitting around. That way I will not have to study as much at home. And if things really are slow, I'm just going to go back to lab. I haven't had the guts to do that yet but I'm getting there.
